I think you think wrong. You rumbled much.

You stated you did not know anyone that was manipulative.

That thread was interesting to follow.

I disagree...it is all about control.

Families, and the church, struggle when men are lazy and refuse to support the family unit they helped create. We suffer when women attempt to usurp spiritual leadership and authority. We suffer when children dictate the direction and mood of the home.

I agree we do suffer when this happens but it isn't usually the major problem in churches.

It grieves me to see the family unit under attack by well-meaning individuals within the church. These folks have fallen for a perverted worldview that despises masculine leadership and pastoral authority.

I think you are on a soapbox bro.

In the overwhelming majority of motion picture and television content, Hollywood, with the full force of it's bully-puplit, assaults the nuclear family unit. An agenda is quite obvious. The agenda is to promote "individualism" in the hopes of separating families from each other.

Quote:
I agree somewhat.

This is why sitcoms usually portray men as bumbling boobs who are incapable of rational thought. This is why women are normally shown as intellectually superior. This is why parents often defer to the greater wisdom of nine year old children in most Disney programming.

Make no mistake about it, the nuclear family is an endangered species. All because love has no strings attached, parents are friends instead of teachers, and the only men worthy of respect are limp-wristed, effeminate metrosexuals.
Whatever...

It's all about what we REALLY love, isn't it?

And this is the crux of the matter.

I grew up in a family of nine, we would have been well below the poverty line. I never did without proper food and clothes and shelter, nor did we apply for "assistance" or free lunches.

It is a a matter of priorities. And it really is that simple.

Brother, you are correct. There are times when we should listen to wifely wisdom.

9And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.

12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Gen 21:9-12 (KJV)
