So, are you shakin' in your boots? Do you dread the evil emanations coming up from Brazil, Haiti and other hot beds of the occult? Do you avoid ladders, black cats and chicken gizzards?
People do live in fear, that's what I was warning against. But all of the mumbo-jumbo and "Pigs in the Parlor" nonsense that goes around in Christian circles actually pumps up the devil and does very little to set people free.
If you're happy with "ministries" and activity like Bob Larson, Mike Warnke and other exposed frauds - go for it. Growing up, educating oneself and living in the 21st Century will give you far more power than a string of garlic.
My assertion still stands. Your mumbo-jumbo is useless. The "spells" and incantations of the occult are make-believe nonsense. Pandering to this tripe is what gets people bound. Take a stand against bondage and promote healthy living and the freedom we have in Jesus Christ.

While there are fakes....the occult is real. Unfortunately, the fakes and frauds end up being noted by people and the real people get brushed aside as fakes and frauds instead of being taken seriously and helped.

Can you present a single example, however, of a legitimate "occult" dealer? I only called out two names that are easily recognizable in the Christian chat world. The number of frauds is ... of all things ... "legion."

Hee...I think Hinny Benn has powers...but I'm pretty sure they don't come from God. :P I think some of what passes for "Christian" is nothing more than magick all dressed up for church. I'm pretty sure a good bit of his act is an act too...between scripted stuff and the power of suggestion, he's got a pretty good gig.
Guess that sort of answers the other question too. I think some of what you see, especially the flashy sensational stuff, is fake. Power of suggestion, cold reading, etc. But I know that there's more to some of it than the above too.

I've never seen what I thought was real "occult" powers. I've seen Austin Powers, but no Occult Powers

It's probably better this way. I presume you have seen the power of God, or evidence thereof.
I've even seen "demon possessed" persons. Not a single one of them had powers to hex people that I witnessed. I've heard of demon possession from first hand witnesses and there wasn't any special occult powers involved.
I have heard that some demon possessed persons exhibited supernatural strength but then again someone on PCP appears to have that kind of strength too.

I think some of what you see, especially the flashy sensational stuff, is fake. Power of suggestion, cold reading, etc. But I know that there's more to some of it than the above too.
