Are you one of those Apostolics who believe in the extra-Biblical words of Paul too?
How can words in the Bible be extra biblical?

This is what can be very frustrating. Most all apostolics talk a big talk and bark relentlessly about how their way is the only way. But when backed into a corner and asked pointedly if lack of adherence to "their way" will result in eternal damnation, they won't give a straight "yes" or "no" answer.
So come on, Mizpeh, stop sounding like a politician at a press conference. You know good and well what Redman believes for salvation and you wouldn't for one single second believe that he believes anything else. Just tell me straight up, if I'm not in complete compliance of Acts 2:38, am I eternally damned?
And pleeeeeeeaaase don't resort to the "God is the judge" routine.
Well He is and no one else is. Although many may think they know.

I'm doing well, NOW. I see you are ably holding your own in the good fight! I would have weighed in earlier, but had difficulty mastering how to chat in enormous red letters - a skill which seems almost mandatory for this thread.
If one is apostolic, by any real definition, would that not preclude one from holding the belief that he/she has greater enlightenment, is better than another, occupies a higher place, and/or any of those rather other nonapostolic attitudes? That the idea can be seriously entertained, even if for a moment, seems to answer the question fairly completely, IMHO. That a small group believes they hold the "right" answer, the golden key, and all others are inferior, at best, and more likely, enternally crispy critters, is the definition of arrogance.
El P, delighted that I could make your day. I'm basking in the glow of a job well done.

Because the words that we were talking about ARE NOT in the Bible. Mizpah was assuming what Paul must have said, and lamenting the fact that Luke did not record all the words of Paul when he was with the jailer.

And there are supposed letters from Paul that were not put in the canon, I believe. And, not sure if I remember correctly, but doesn't one of the two Corinthian letters mention another letter (not in the Bible)?

While that is true, if the basis for the argument is what IS in the Bible that we have today none of the other material really applies.
Besides I don't think the other letters of Paul expound on what he said to the jailer.
