Maybe it’s because my grandfather left his teeth in Korea, or that my Dad suffered permanent injuries as a result of going through basic training before being released from the doctor during Vietnam. I never forget, and I don’t want a President who does either.
I have never been to one game where everyone solutes during the anthem. I think it is a weak argument against him. I hold a public office, a small one but it is one, and I have forgot to salute many times a Cubs games, why? It is a very easy thing to miss.

If you say you have never missed a solute I would venture to say that you might be exaggerating. The fact he was standing proves he showed reverence, I think people blow things out of the water.

Frankly it doesn't much matter since he will be the next president according to polls.

LOL...that my friend is how a lot of people actually are. I think that this was an effort by his camp to get a little cute with their logo. Since they can't use the actual seal, they did something similar to make people think "Presidential" whenever he was speaking. Incidentally it is much more similar to other gov't logos than the actual seal (color, etc)

I thought I would give Rico a hand with the list of flip flops that you requested. This list covers everything from McCain's twisting the truth regarding the 30 detainees who were released only to commit terrorists acts to his changing views on amnesty. It will be interesting to see the reactions of people who have blindly defended him while criticizing every misstep that Obama has made these last few months. There really is no comparison...

there is also quite a bit of a difference between doing something that needs to be done, and bringing public attention to such an act. what obama did was stupid. even if the president feels the need to take such an action, you NEVER make public comment beforehand!

it was unwise and unnessary and further proof that Obama should not be president.
I will get back to you on the other evils.
Others have made comments concerning Iran rather recently. In the past, I can remember the "axis of evil" remarks too. Again, IMO, to many folks will criticize everything this man does or does not do.

It matters. It is not an easy thing to miss, if it is important.

He was not a member of his church.
* McCain used to oppose Bush’s tax cuts for the very wealthy, but he reversed course in February.

* In 2000, McCain accused Texas businessmen Sam and Charles Wyly of being corrupt, spending “dirty money” to help finance Bush’s presidential campaign. McCain not only filed a complaint against the Wylys for allegedly violating campaign finance law, he also lashed out at them publicly. In April, McCain reached out to the Wylys for support.

I'll have to look closer into this.

* McCain supported a major campaign-finance reform measure that bore his name. In June, he abandoned his own legislation.
Immigration? Many people have tried to fix this. He realized he needed another plan. Big deal. There are many issues involved. It's not that easy as just securing the borders.

* McCain used to think that Grover Norquist was a crook and a corrupt shill for dictators. Then McCain got serious about running for president and began to reconcile with Norquist.
Have to check into this.

* McCain took a firm line in opposition to torture, and then caved to White House demands.
Not a bad comment to make considering all involved in Iraq and beyond. “make it clear to the world that this government does not torture and that we adhere to the international convention of torture, whether it be here at home or abroad.”

“It’s a done deal,” said McCain, talking to reporters outside the White House.

I don't see the big deal here.

* McCain gave up on his signature policy issue, campaign-finance reform, and won’t back the same provision he sponsored just a couple of years ago.

He's committed to reducing the amount of special interest money involved in politics.

Obama invites questions about how good his word is in regard to campaign financing.

* McCain was against presidential candidates campaigning at Bob Jones University before he was for it.
Have to check into this.

* McCain was anti-ethanol. Now he’s pro-ethanol.
We weren't in an oil crises at the time and he is also for other alternative energy choices and exploration.

* McCain was both for and against state promotion of the Confederate flag.
I'd have to check into this, doesn't seem a big deal.

* And now he’s both for and against overturning Roe v. Wade.
He wants to leave that as a state right choice. That would be constitutional.

Well millions of people a year, even ones that have served and lost members in the military don't place their hands over their heart. I assume it is not that they are being disrespectful, how do I know this? I go to hundreds of professional sporting events a year, I see what happens. I think it is a weak argument to say that is his sentiment.

If Barack didn't love this country as much as you or I he wouldn't be doing what he thought was better.

He doesn't hate America or the people in it, this country has built a reputation on allowing people to make it different AND THAT IS WHAT HIS CAMPAIGN IS ABOUT! Change...

Like I said I am not an Obama supporter but this is ridiculous, don't vote for him if you don't want to but he is not unpatriotic or crazy, he wants to change the country to what he thinks is better, like any other president that has ever been elected.

Where did I say Barak hates America? please review. I didn't even suggest he hates America.

You are correct in that Barak wants to change America into what he believes would be best.

It is EXACTLY THAT which I oppose! What Barak believes America needs to become is something I strongly believe America needs to avoid at all cost!

His not saluting the flag, speaks to that very ideal.

and Again, he is interviewing for the most important job on the face of the earth.... he gets no do-over's.
