Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Guns: An Important Discussion
Freedom Munitions is a good ammo source. They are dealing with issues like everyone else, but they are an actual manufacturer, not a middle man, so your chances of getting ammo at reasonable prices are much better. My suggestion would be to find the round you are looking for, and if it is out of stock, click More Info and the small 'Email Me When Back In Stock' link on that product page. That way you will be the first to be notified. http://www.freedommunitions.com/default.asp

Sure... perhaps Jesus suffered many things not even mentioned in the Scriptures. For all we know, the people He grew up with thought He was a nut and vandalized His home at one point. Of course, this is only conjecture. But the point is... I could see it happening.

For two hundred plus years, we did not have such violence we have now. So taking away of the guns will not curb that violence. It has not in Great Briton. People are now getting bashed by baseball bats after they even took away butcher knives.
I'm afraid that we will not get to the root cause of why we have such violence.
Even during the great depression there was not a violence to the people such as is now displayed. End times.

The Second Amendment must be protected.
However, I think Michael's original question was with regards to the Christian ethic. While we have the "right" to bear arms and to use lethal force... many believe the Scriptures call us to a higher ethic of non-violence.

I seriously do not think a man will get extra credit points before the great thrown of judgement because he let some murdering rapist kill him and rape his wife instead of putting a bullet in the bad guys brain.
I also dont think a man will lose brownie points for blowing a bad guy away who just broke into his home with murderous intent.
It is one thing to die for Christ. It is an entirely different thing to allow the innocent to be molested so you can say you are a pacifist.

If a robber puts a gun to your head and demands that you perform an immoral act... and you refuse on account of your desire to obey Jesus and he kills you... you're a martyr. Don't you realize... it's not about someone killing you over your religion. MOST DON'T CARE WHAT YOU BELIEVE. However, they will kill you over your desire to obey. Obedience brings martyrdom.
