Re: Tulsa Tango????

Alot of people are discouraged by the course the UPC seems to be going toward, are people never go to conferences and thus never see the way the mainstream are slipping away from conservative values toward a more charismatic view. If it is okay for there to be the slide, why can't it be okay to stay with the values and stands we hold in the manual, the same manual that every minister is to uphold

By manual, do you mean the Articles of Faith or the Bible?

What's sad is you only see being separate as "looking" different.

Have you ever thought being separate could mean something different?

Re: Tulsa Tango????

there are those who believe that the UPCI manual was given to Moses on the mountain....or at least it should be worshiped that way.

The manual is a working document....and if you ever get the chance to look at the original one(first printing)....you would find it MUCH smaller and less detailed about "do's and don'ts" than the current one we have.

It has changed....and it has become much more exclusive. Which I don't really think is a good thing.

Re: Tulsa Tango????

it is a foundation which we build upon,
no you don't have to only believe the articles of faith, steve pixler, is a fine representation of apostolic believers.

but if you say you believe it and then try to skirt around it another thing altogether

Re: Tulsa Tango????

I believe the UPCI as an organization has demonstrated what it is willing to "go to war" over....and what it isn't.

There are certain topics and issues that they have been unwilling to change/adjust their manual....even to correct wording or vernacular issues. And there are topics that they are not willing to "excomunicate" over.

Is this a double standard....yes....but it is thier party, thier group, thier club....and maybe they feel more harm will come from the extraction of membership.
