I read the quote on one of his posts, I liked it so I simply cut it and pasted it. If he was quoting someone, I have no knowledge of it, besides, I kind of like it coming from Jekyll instead of someone I don't know very well.

This does not take away from the fact that I give him honor and respect as being a tremendous pastor, a man of integrity, and a man with his heart in the right place.
Carpenter,

Thank you for this post. I have preached for the Haymons many times in the past and no doubt will in the future. I've seen them in times of revival, times of pressure, times of rejoicing and through various annual conferences in their Church. This much I will say with no hesitation: these men are good men of integrity. I've seen them function with character when I would have scarcely maintained my salvation by responding negatively.

The Haymon's have taught me graciousness under pressure. They have been examples of dignity and kindness.

They are my personal friends and I love them dearly. And, for what it's worth, in all my times there I've never seen either of them in a limo... though, in my opinion, they both deserve that and more.

Blessings on you and yours.

(P.S.: Next time I'm in the area I'd love to meet you in person. The way I have it figured, if you can put up with rrford you can surely put up with me!)

This whole article looks a little insensitive. Looks like they are trying to capitalize on her new stardom. It is really amazing how us apostolics want to be in the limelight and take credit for something.

I don't see anything wrong with what was said. Looks like to me, they were just happy she got in church.. not taking credit for anything really..just looks like they are happy that this person is in church.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Bro. Goss's book Winds of God should be read by everyone that wants to know what the true spirit of God was and how it was manifest in those early days and no one was looking on the clothing of the other person.
