Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

PO - he is not stupid.
He has tapped into the doubts and fears of many Americans.
He has more support among minority voters than any Republican that I have seen.
Part of it is because he is not a traditional candidate.
Maybe because I have followed him for 20 years I have a different view than others.
A lot of what he has always said has been TIC.
But, with a grain of truth in it.
He is still doing the same thing, now.
Part of me still believes that he is just seeing how far he can go and laughing at those who are going right along with him.
Ever heard of Huey Long?

The dialogue in John 3 was a specific historical narrative between two men: Jesus, and Nicodemus. Jesus was not speaking prophetically about some nebulous future event. He was responding to a specific question.

John 3:3-7

"Jesus replied, “I tell you (Nicodemus) the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

This conversation occurred pre-cross. Why would Jesus mention being born again at this time if it weren't possible? He was speaking to an individual, in real time, not playing to a future crowd.

“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”

Nicodemus refers to his age and the seeming impossibility of presently being born again. In his mind that ship had sailed.

"Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit."

"Water" here does not refer to baptism, but to initial physical birth (see next verse). Jesus never uses the words baptism or tongues when speaking to Nicodemus.

"Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life."

The second birth (being born again) is a gift from God. It is impossible to live forever spiritually without the born again experience.

"So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again."

The rest of the conversation between the two men involves Jesus explaining how this is accomplished.

In verse 9 Nicodemus asks "“How are these things possible?”

Jesus goes on to use variants of the word "believe" 8 times.

Born again, of the Spirit, before the crucifixion, even though His Spirit had not yet been given?
Mercy...

If a mosque is sponsoring terrorist activities it should be closed.
You're either lazy and didn't look or didn't bother reading the many news articles which came up with a Google search.

NY Times, Trump would "absolutely require muslims to register.

Politifact trying to give Donnie-boy the benefit of the doubt, but they even can't spin what The Donald is saying.

""ABC News'..This Week, host George Stephanopoulos asked Trump, "You did stir up a controversy with those comments over the database. Let's try to clear that up. Are you unequivocally now ruling out a database on all Muslims?"

"No, not at all," Trump responded. "I want a database for the refugees that -- if they come into the country. We have no idea who these people are. When the Syrian refugees are going to start pouring into this country, we don't know if they're ISIS, we don't know if it's a Trojan horse. And I definitely want a database and other checks and balances. We want to go with watchlists. We want to go with databases. And we have no choice.""

Yes, by his mercy.

Consider John 1:10-13

10 He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. 11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. 12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

This happened before and after the cross.

This silly notion of separate "plans" of salvation isn't at all biblical.

The first quote wasn't a question. And it included a link to the original thread. But instead you decided to try and hijack the thread.

Would it be so horrible, Pressing On?

I'm actually increasing views for your thread.

Oh, and by the way, Ted Cruz is still a liar.

Over 29,000 intelligent people viewed this thread before you showed up.

And now you have to PROVE that Ted Cruz is a liar. Apparently, Marco Rubio is a liar.

WATCH: The LIE Marco Rubio told while accusing Ted Cruz of ‘dirty tricks’!

You may have heard about a little story that got Ted Cruz’s Communications Director Rick Tyler fired yesterday. We have the whole thing posted here. Also here.

Anyway, while he was trying to rip on Ted Cruz over it, the thirsty Cuban told his own lie about the story to the press.
