I always saw it as one step containing three parts.

Felicity, you need to go back to cooking or sewing now. I just got Steve Epley agreeing with me on something, so please leave the theology of "process" to us theologians.

LOL!

Common ground is so special is it not? Even if some stand on stilts to "rise" to the occaision.

I hope you and Fele have a blessed day in the Lord.

That is something new I think I am converting him slowly.

I guess you could say most folks appear to follow the spirit of the UPC's Fundamental Doctrine, particularly the part about not striving against the unity of the body. And I say that realizing that most of the more active posters are not even UPC.
Forgive me, Pelathais, but these two statements have me ROFL. The unity statement was breached long ago and I think it hilarious you have pointed to the "3 step" position as the position most striving to keep unity. Would to God a "unifying" spirit of non-contention for new birth position remained. If the "3 steppers" would have taken this attitude throughout history I would not have been asked to leave my home church of 27 years.

I do enjoy your posts....

Adino, I think I understand where Pel is coming from when he says,

"...however they tend not to be harsh and judgmental when it comes to other beliefs"

Even though most want to have a rep of being "strong on the doctrine" there is an existing and growing movement to not judge others (into damnation) who have not experienced what we have.

Though this mindset does raise new questions regarding their views on "full salvation" and "light doctrine" I do see the growing tolerance as a good thing - however justification is made. (pun intended)
