It is my belief that the UPCI is in danger. Under 400 ministers under the age of thirty? Where have they all gone?
Lest I am accused of being an alarmist, consider the theme of last year's General Conference was "Passing the Mantle". Now we have an entire Forward dedicated to the problem.

Why are there so few young ministers and what can be done to remedy the problem?

I heard someone say:

We are no longer uneducated peasants relying on a preacher who speaks latin to tell us everything we need to know... We can all read, and if given enough breathing room, everyone will begin to notice the inconsistencies on their own... these are real flaws in the foundation of the CULTURE of the church... which is what everyone accepts as the church...

My opinion means about squat here since I did not go, but a 2 hr service did not give me any warm and fuzzies.

Where are men like JT Pugh, Charles Grisham, and TFT to be role models for YOUNG men?

So J-Roc, you believe education is causing young men to shy away from licensing with the UPC?

You would think it rather easy for the org to mentor and train a group of young men that numbers below 400. 8700 men over 30 can't mentor 400 under 30? Someone is falling down on the job.

BTW, I think Grisham is an awesome man of God.

I think its more than that ... its a shifting in the church in general that is tired of tradition, politics as usual and denominationalism ....
