Well, if you were a UPCer wouldn't YOU get tired of seeing that sort of stuff over and over and over and over from people who are supposed to be brethren on a forum called "Apostolic friends forum"?

Yes it get's old and a lot of people don't come here any more because that's nearly all this forum is about anymore. It's old. Im sick of it.

Whoa dude....when I said "All They Focus" I was referring to a non oneness denomination...Im done...I dont have a dog in this fight.With all due respect dont assume what would or would not be tired of.I always consider the point of views of others...Why? Because I used to be the church brat regurgitating anything and everything I was told and in the same spirit of ignorance and Holier Than Thou it was told to me...I never stopped to think because I was never taught to think just to obey and parrot.So now...anything I am told I think through it very carefully...meditate on it..examine it from a non emotional unreactive point of view...I love a good spirited debate or discussion but if its causing me to have a wrong attitude or whoever else is involved id just rather walk away.

What WAS the background

I can't put anyone on ignore since I am an Admin nor does that fix the constant almost daily anti-UPC tone that get's set here

There are other people here too that are UPC, there are some that no longer come anymore. There are some that sign up but after reading don't return

All I am and have been saying is it's OLD OLD OLD. Can't we just discuss these topics without having to always include the UPC in a negative light?

A lot of people who might want to discuss the topic probably feel alienated

I don't assume who is or isn't tired. I hear them. They say it. I say it. We are just tired of it.

I love a good spirited debate too and I know it can be done without having to always bring up the UPC and alienate them.

But I am not the only one TIRED of everything being directly or indirectly negative about the UPC.

I am NOT opposed to discussing doctrines the UPC holds and I have been doing that for 30 years or more. In fact I have opposed doctrines and teachings happening in the UPC and have done so without having to refer to the UPC in any light

I dont bash the UPC but neither do I feel it is my job to come running to their defense when someone expresses a contrary view.Churches are different all over and the experiences someone has in their circle may not be the same as someone elses.The background of the post you responded to was me commenting on your blanket statement about other denominations not focusing on outward dress standards which is false....go look up the Independent Fundamentalist Baptists....and yes for the record you CAN fake it all.When I was a child I knew what songs were gonna be sung depending on who got up to sing...not only did I know the songs but I knew the effect on the listeners...I knew when to raise my hands...when to shout...when to clap...pretty much just by watching...there is so much pressure to respond in certain ways in church that if you DIDNT act certain ways at certain times you stood out.I know all the right things to say and how to behave and how to dress...I know all the key catch phrases...People respond to things without even thinking in the right settings and it makes me almost sick.So yeah...it can be faked because I have done it....I grew up in a home where my dad was one way around everybody else but with just us he had a totally different side no one knew about but us and yes was active in the ministry...Im not bitter...I just know that all that glitters isnt gold.
