Rhoni you hold your wounds to yourself like a badge. You need Dr. Laura therapy not Dr. Phil today. You need a spanking! You are wrong! wrong! wrong! It is sad that you are leaving. In reality you've left long ago. I refuse to scratch your back on this. Love is not always pastel colors...

Did I define what cultish practices I was talking about? Are you assuming you know? Are you assuming I am talking directly to you? Objecting and a personal attack are two different things.

Sister, the neat thing about having a victim mentality is that it keeps one from feeling the need to examine themselves, and makes them feel justified in endless finger pointing.
I am not in charge of what people do to me, but I am in charge of how I respond.
I would hate to be lost over someone else's sin against me that I refused to forgive to the point that it became biterness and destroyed me.

He has never reprimanded her for wearing a little makeup or trimming her hair. So she is not being stubborn or rebellious to those that have the rule over her and are watching out for her soul. The ones with the problem are other saints in the church that want her to tow a line that she doesn't feel God has drawn for her.
I hope I got that correct, Martha.

Let her clarify that if she would. Policing means ENFORCEMENT. Preaching require declaring. I would hope the pastor isn't shrinking to the congregation because of one person and not preaching it! If the saints are curious, it is likely it's not the way they do things and she probably knows better.

Rhonda,
I don't understand why you do this to yourself.

And just how do you define love? I prefer my feet rubbed to my back scratched.
Blessings, Rhoni

That didn't happen. Anyway, I could never forget about God, and it was only His love, mercy and compassion that I am in church today (UPC) I still don't fit the 'mold' and some people in church openly tell me that I am doing everything wrong since I trim my hair and wear a little make-up, but now I'm like a duck--I let the remarks roll off my back. I don't worry about what others think of me.
From some of your posts, I have sensed a lot of hurt and anguish. Who am I to judge you? I have never walked in your shoes but I understand. I only wish you the best in whatever decision you make. Just never let go of His hand.

WOW, Impressive post !
God bless you sister,
(the UPC bashers ain't gonna like you)

Woah, wait just a minute.
Aren't you the sister that regularly gave great reports of the wonderful church that you attended, and several great testimonies about your kids struggles and victories.
Maybe I've got you mixed up with somebody else. If not, I'm truly sorry to hear that you're not attending church. Your good reports were always a blessing to me.

Wow... this thread has been an eye opener.
I'd rather go ahead and die rather than experience the "healing".
I simply cannot believe a lot of the words I am reading.

Old habits are difficult to break. You have to replace them with good ones. I am working on that. How about a 6 month sabbatical?
