That's a tribute to her. I was a little surprised that it made the Yahoo headlines.

I too was impressed at that myself... It was on all of our local news here too... and not much makes the news here if its about gospel music

I wouldn't have laughed, at least not for too long, my dad would have tanned my backside.

Go to Dottie's site and click on 'Music'. There they list all of the Rambo LPs and some of Dony and Reba.
They show the actual LP covers and it was so neat to see them after all these years.
Though my first love has always been Black gospel, for some reason the Rambos were big with me then, and I had all of their early LPs.

I am 43 and Dottie Rambo just reminded me of the good old days in my life.
We would have that music playing lightly on Sunday in between services.
back when you went to church twice on Sunday.
When the whole family took a nap and rested up for the night service.
I remember being yelled for to set the neddle back or flip the record to hear side B.
She was a great woman...

One time your dad walked up to me during class while I was reading, Son of a Wanted Man by Louis L'amour. He looked at the book and said do you think a Christian should be reading that. My face went completely white. Then he cracked up laughing and said, that's a pretty good one but not one of his best.

I didn't see that one, but I did see several that my parents had back then, I remember sitting in front of their stereo for hours playing their albums.

I have read nealy all of the Louis L'amour books.
Remember the Sackett family in his books?
He would have one show up in the other westerns that were not focused on the Sacketts.
I gave away all of his books.
Many were in hard copy.
I wish I had them today...

My grandfather got me started on them, I believe I have read them all. Tell Sackette was my favorite. My favorite book was The Walking Drum.
