8. I am not quite ready to say goodbye to this thread...just yet.
9. The only seasoning my mom ever served on our food was salt and black pepper.
10. I moved to nawlins ('76) and experienced Popeyes Spicey chicken and thought I would need to drown myself in a COKE to deal with the KICK that bird delivered (not even on the same planet as today's mid-atlantic version of Popeye's spicey)
11. I never heard of beans being combined with rice prior to 1976
12. I have spent the last 24 years of my life trying to re-create at home the RB&R from my love affair with it in nawlins.

Beans and rice are a total good and healthy complete protein! Love them mixed, as long as it's brown rice!

This has been a fun thread!
Guess I can throw a few more things out there too:
8. When I was in HS, I avoid as much as I possibly could anyone being to the side of me. I hated my nose and didn't want anyone to see my profile. I got over it. Pretty hard to hide your nose your whole life.
9. I got scared during the night as a kid and walked in on my parents. There was much scrambling of the sheets - I didn't "get it" until I was much older.
LOL! I don't like my nose either. My sister got this cute little one.
It's just like my dad's and brother's and just lately there's a picture of me that was posted on facebook by a friend of when I was at JCM. My DIL said when her and my son saw the picture they couldn't believe how much my son looked like me in that picture. He has my nose too.
So, I guess it's not a bad thing to look like your family! LOl!

Nobody except me in my immediate family has this honker. My aunt and cousin both do though.

10. I had a crush on David Cassidy.
I liked Shaun Cassidy & Andy Gibb --I can't really figure out the Shaun Cassidy one, looking back he wasn't all that cute-David Cassidy at least was cute.
