RNC Member Wants Investigation Into How Race Card Was Played In Mississippi Primary

Ed Martin, the chairman of the Missouri Republican Party, sent a letter to RNC chairman Reince Priebus requesting him to appoint a special committee of RNC members to “investigate this matter” and report back on its findings. The Daily Caller was provided a copy of that letter.

Martin wrote that an investigation is needed because “many of us are unsure of all of the facts and seek more.”

“Specifically, if one of our own members helped finance ads or robocalls that tarred tea partiers as a group as racists, I am sure that most RNC members would find that deeply offensive, indeed unacceptable,” Martin wrote.

Really think that will go anywhere? GOP used obama's trump card against it's own member. No way are they going to admit it, much less allow an official investigation of who financed or approved it.

The NRSC-Mississippi Thing Smells Fishier And Fishier

Again – it’s entirely possible that there’s an innocent explanation for this. We would very much like to see that explanation. Hopefully we’ll get something we can update this post with.

Because it needs to be understood that we’re in an age where Dinesh D’Souza might very well go to jail for having moved $15,000 to a candidate using straw donors in a race where the outcome was never in doubt. In the past, violations like that would meet with a fine, but they want to put D’Souza in JAIL for it.

Dinesh D’Souza is certainly a stone in the Obama regime’s shoe, but he’s no particular threat to their governance.

The NRSC is trying to take away the Democrats’ control over the Senate, and most people think they will. Does anybody really think Eric Holder’s Department of Justice wouldn’t absolutely maximize the political effect of prosecuting the NRSC and/or the Thad Cochran campaign by announcing investigations and/or indictments immediately before the election? That’s how Ted Stevens lost to Mark Begich in Alaska, by the way – you don’t think the Obama administration wouldn’t use whatever problems with disclosures and/or coordination issues – or better yet, election fraud – as a cudgel against Cochran and the Republican Party?

This is rapidly becoming a mess. What Cochran has done is ring a bell that can’t be unrung. And he might well have dragged the NRSC into an untenable situation.

Ted Cruz is the NRSC’s Vice Chairman for grassroots outreach, and he’s calling for an investigation of Cochran’s campaign. This situation isn’t going away any time soon.

I never thought about Eric Holder's Dept of Just Us. If Cochran remains the winner, I would bet my 401K (which isn't much, but still money) that Holder will file charges and investigate Cochran just so the Dems can win MS.

Barbour and Cochran should be publicly renounced and kicked off whatever position in the GOP they have. Despicable.

I also heard a comment on one of the Sunday morning shows saying that the only possible Republican candidate that has grown in strength is Rand Paul. I would prefer to see Ted Cruz as Governor of Texas after Abbott is finished. They are trying to say that Mitt will run again and win. Please don't bring that nightmare on stage again. He brought us Obamacare for heaven's sake. Ugh!

Cruz would make a great Gov...and President. I still #standwithRand if he runs. I saw the GOP dealt a blow to Paul's structure in Iowa by replacing the State Chairman who was a Paul supporter. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come from the GOP.

Just read the money trail article....what a mess. Did I understand this right -- Cochran lives in a DC mansion with his Executive Assistant and her husband or just her?

Interesting how these billionaire's will give money to both sides in hopes of a payoff. In this case, I agree with the article that it's likely immigration.
