Your wife sounds like she really tries to please you. I can't say the same thing about you though.

Just jumping in here without reading all the way through:

NO, Carp! You do NOT bash the UPC. You and I both speak of our experiences, good and bad that we have had. I will not disregard the good nor hide the bad.

As far as the "hose" thing is concerned.............I could say a lot of things and have thought of a number of things I would post.

However, some would be inappropriate; some would be offensive; and some would be.....................well, anyway.....I'm abstaining.........while shaking my head in absolute and utter disbelief.

If my wife doesn't like something I don't wear it or do it. She doesn't like for me to wear sandals public so I don't.

I think you have every right to run your house the way you see fit...

Just wanted to point out some things, and maybe make you think a bit.

Here's something to think about as well...I'll bet your grandpa threw a fit when your daddy quit wearing his hat in public. Of course he would have been all grown up and out of his daddy's house to do so.

I see hose as going the same direction as the corsets of old. They are not comfortable to wear. Women are no longer wearing them. Our culture has changed and moved on. I would even be willing to say that your daughter will not be wearing hose after she has grown and moved out of your household.

I will even go a bit further and say that your daughter will most likely shred them with glee, throw them away, and NEVER put another pair on again!

Okay, well, maybe things are fine. You just sounded kind of controlling. But if you both have the same opinion anyway, it probably doesn't matter. The only way it would matter is if she felt stifled by your opinions.

My children love to please their father and she will always do as I ask. I always did as mama and papa ask.

I never went against anything they said and I was in my mid forties when they died.

Another thing

The Youth Camp that we use one of the rules is that the girls must wear hose to the night services.

PS my wife ask me not to be in public with sandals on, she think it looks bad.
Er....actually...pantyhose are a relatively new...and worldly invention.

Personally, I don't even think pantyhose look that great on most women...especially when they're worn in dark shades of tan, or the worst ever--worn with socks and tennis shoes.

I wish there could be a class on what color pantyhose to wear...This one rule would be good: They Should Never Be Darker Than Your Hem OR Your Shoes! (with a few exceptions)

A few others:

Knee highs ought to be outlawed. Unless they're argyle or some fun print. Thigh highs are okay...if you can keep them up.

Tights are okay...in winter-time.

Black hose only look good if they're SHEER.

Fishnets only look good on hookers. Fish = Hook...they do seem to go well together.

Ornate patterns only look good on really slender legs. Unless you want to call attention to your king-size calves, stick with sheer and a single color.

If you can't afford good pantyhose, you shouldn't wear any at all. NO woman looks ladylike if her pantyhose are bagging around her ankles. Or snags and runs. Or poorly made threads that go horizontally around the leg, making them look twice their size.

Oh yeah...and don't forget to shave your legs...yes, we CAN see the hairs pressed against your calves THROUGH the hose. I know, you thought they became invisible. But, ya know...black hairs under sheerish tan...it kind of shows.
