Bro. Coonskinner,

I can relate to the wonderful old songs (and I do like some of the newer

songs and praise choruses) which tell of the greatness and mercy of our

Wonderful Friend, Jesus! When we are feeling down and lonely, the words

of "What a Friend We Have In Jesus", and when we're feeling SO thankful

after He has shown Himself SO real to us once again and to sing those

words, " Just want to tell You I'm thankful for all that You have done, for

the stars and the moonlight and the setting sun...! "My Thanks To Him" is

the name of that one! And when we feel we will burst with thankfulness

after a great trial of our faith, we burst forth singing, "O What A Saviour",

O hallelujah, His heart was broken, on Calvary! His Hands were nail-scarred,

His side was riven, He gave His life's Blood for you and me"

O I Want To Se Him, look upon His Face. There to sing forever of His

Saving Grace .... Oh what singing, O what shouting, on that happy morning

when we all shall rise. O what glory, hallelujah! When we meet our blessed

Saviour in the skies!!!

Blessings,

Falla39

And when the power of heaven is tapped
Then something good is bound to happen
While the Spirit of Jesus is in this place

Song From Childhood

I sang this song last year to a group that many could have been my kids and they just didn't get the meaning.

They thought the idea of Jesus being on the telephone was funny. Our world has changed and kids these days are experiencing their own landmarks of faith, which includes their own songs.

I may be an old geezer in their eyes, but I like their music too; however, nothing stirs my soul like some of the old standards that we sang growing up.

I have to admit that I have just about every Bill Gaither Homecoming CD and video made in the last 12 years. I remember playing that song Coon at least twice a month while growing up.

Boy, how the saints would sing that song! Thanks for the memories, Coon.

This song blessed me tonight!!

In the middle of the turbulence surrounding you
These trying times that are so hard to endure
In the middle of what seems to be your darkest hour
Hold fast your heart and be assured

This too shall pass
Like every night that's come before it
He'll never give you more than you can bear
This too shall pass
So in this thought be comforted
It's in His Hands
This too shall pass

The Father knows the tears you cry before they fall
He feels your pain, His heart and yours are one
The Father knows that sorrow's heavy chains are strong
But with His strength, you'll overcome

This too shall pass
Like every night that's come before it
He'll never give you more than you can bear
This too shall pass
So in this thought be comforted
It's in His Hands
This too shall pass

So set your eyes upon the mountain
And lift your hands up to the sky
And let His arms of love surround you
And take you to the other side

This too shall pass
Like every night that's come before it
He'll never give you more than you can bear
This too shall pass
So in this thought be comforted
It's in His Hands
This too shall pass

A word from the Word...

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things
(Phil. 4:8).
