I don't know if this belief ever left, just as it seems to pop up in different groups or at least parts of their belief do.

And so was Eve the body of Adam, and yet Adam still had a personal body of arms and legs.

Why do some insist that a Spiritual body means an ethereal invisible body ?

I think it is because many assume that "spiritual" means non-physical. A common error. Perhaps references in conversations to "spiritual" things are usually unseen things like thoughts or truths is the basis of that error.

As you know I wrestled with this one time, but one must be careful not to read too much into a text.

Re: Is Jesus Sitting on a Throne in His Flesh?
Revelation says, we shall see His face in the New Jerusalem. So does that mean the Church as a whole will look in a giant mirror and it will be one of those images thousands of fans make at sporting events? What does the face of a Word look like? And what actually happened to the body of Jesus when it ascended? Did it disintegrate?

Re: Is Jesus Sitting on a Throne in His Flesh?
Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
Luke 24:40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them [his] hands and [his] feet.
Luke 24:41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
Luke 24:42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
Luke 24:43 And he took [it], and did eat before them.
