Awwww, fun! I wonder if I will ever get to babysit. I'll probably charge her.

This would be me if my grandbaby was a month old and I hadn't got to hold him yet.
I do understand her concern - and the fact that she waited 8 years for this baby boy..... but I think I would be telling her "enough is enough and that is what I have had an abundancy of"..... No wonder he wants her to hold him all the time.
All kidding aside .... P.O., I admire and respect your way of handling this! I'm not so sure I would be so understanding!

I was going to run by and hold him today, but they are purchasing a new vehicle and our schedules would collide. I'll stop by tomorrow.
She just called and said that he is crying for her all the time and she is just going nuts. I said, "Well, you've draw a circle around his life. You'll have to figure it out." LOL!
She said, "Mother, I wanted sympathy from you today."
Toe torry! - no sympathy here.

Yep - - he doesn't even know that anyone except his daddy exists.......I understand what she's feeling, but you are right.....she's done it to herself. Family holding him would have not been harmful at all.

I agree, but the seriousness is that she is gripped with fear.
Her doctor is telling her, "I don't know what religion you are, but if you are Catholic, try to go to a Mass that has less people and keep him away from children. Don't take him into confined places full of people. Starting in October you need to take him out less, that is when sickness is starting to take off."
So, she is being fed some of this fear from her doctor as well. This isn't a holistic doctor, just a regular pediatrician.
I think we can only pray that she will be able to get a handle on her fear. I frankly cannot help her with this.

Except pray for her.
She might need a little SS lesson from you - - She believes God provided her with this blessing, so why would he take him back away. You are right - she's allowing fear to take over.

We've done the SS lesson. LOL! When I see this precious little child, I can feel the intensity of her fear and why she has it. Let's bind together and pray that she can overcome that fear.

IN JESUS NAME !!!
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Re: PRAY for PO's Daughter and Grandson
You might need to enlist some outside help for her here. It is sounding very much like this is turning into an obsession for her. I don't mean that to sound critical. I certainly understand why she has the fear she has after having waited soooooo long to get this precious gift. But she is not doing him OR herself any favors by smothering him this way.
I have to wonder if the doctor really said that the way it sounds? Or did he say to her that October is the time when things like the flu and colds and stuff really kick in, so.... But not meaning that she needs to keep him away from others starting then? IF he did say that, I would seriously begin looking for another pediatrician. But that's just me.
Does she work outside of her home? what is she doing for daycare? surely at some point, she will need a break. She's got to start leaving him now - even if it's only for a few minutes at a time - or he will be miserable when she really does need to leave him. That's not a fair thing to do to him.
