I see your nice profile pic, those beautiful children young and still under your rule. I want to see you on here when they are adults and they've basically told you to take a hike! You may not think that day is coming, but don't worry, it will.
You may think I’m a harsh guy, but deep down I’m just like you, just a little older. All my kids are grown, married, and have their own kids. I’ve said a lot the same things you have in the past, but good old TIME has mellowed this fireball.

First: let me say this just because your children ( I can only assume of course) told you to take a hike doesnt mean that his will or anyone else that holds to standards will.
Second: That is the problem that I have seen with many people who were once on fire for God, they "mellowed out", right out of what is Biblical, that's why it's ok to do anything you want and still go to heaven according to these people which I have not found in the Bible.

It's an old picture and they are older. They are free to make their own desicisons, when they grow to adulthood. I commented about it in another thread. Yet, while my children may stay in what my wife and I believe or not, I highly doubt they would tell us to "take a hike." Unlike your children, (I am only assuming here, since you have taken a postion of being experienced at this) who told you to take a hike, my children like what we do and are a part of what we do. It's not just a mid week service, Sunday thing, but a lifestyle. You were a fire ball? So you burned the children to a crisp, and now you swung the pendulum from one extreme to the other. If I may, allow me to inform you, while you learned about Jesus via a pulpit, I learned about Jesus through a Bible and prayer. So, calm down, and have a Coke and a smile.

Many walk out of churches because of the same old Sunday school mess they learned as a kid is still being pumped down their throats as adults. Yet, they don't leave the faith, they just leave those churches. People who leave Jesus Christ, do it because they have other issues that surpass any preacher preaching hell fire and brimstone. If Jesus preached and David played his harp they still would walk out. Next time you happen to look at the door stop in your living room and flip through its pages, you may come across 1st Cor 3:6-8 and find one plants seeds and another waters, yet it is God who gives the increase as the soul who had been sowed and watered answers the call. The problem is guys like you think you have way more control in the salvation and child rearing then is possible. The souls we preach to and children we teach can only be led so far, and God and themselves have most of the walking to do. I know, it's a control issue with you and you may believe that people can be manipulated to stay in church, and live for God.
Yet, that just isn't so. It is a one on one situation, no pulpit pounding, neck cracking, or sweet love messages are going to do anything for anyone if Jesus Christ isn't involved.

I have heard the cooling out with time speech ever since I walked through the doors of the church. It is usually quoted by those who really were never HOT, just really unwise. Others who quote the phrase, do so because they don't like to see zeal, because that zeal convicts them of where they're at.
You see Kemosahbee, people shouldn't cool off the longer they are with Jesus, but should get hotter. Jesus doesn't want us cold, He wants us hot. Mellowed out, I guess would be lukewarm, and therefore get vomited out of His mouth.

Thanks for at least loving me.
No foam at the mouth, Bro. Just calling you to the carpet! LOL
Bro Ben, your role as an Evangelist is admirable, but to be quite frank, you love em and leave em. I've pastored for 14 years and Evangelist's that I know admit this is their forte....It is their course and they confess it to me as the absolute Truth!! You don't stick around to pick up the pieces after you're gone. All the hype is over when you've left, and reality is what gets us past each day, working the common job and dealing with difficult people, day in, day out, setting our roots down as the winds and storms of life blow into our boredoms and repititions of everyday living.
Let me know when you decide to settle down and build a Home Missions work, letting people come into your home to live, eat, and call you all hours of the night. Let me know when you are willing to sacrifice your paycheck, your time, your all out energy and pain to stay with a small group when you feel like giving up after those you trusted just walked out the door because they just couldn't take it anymore. Try standing alone, being in the trenches when the word "forsaken" doesn’t even describe what you feel.
My Children are good people, but they still came to those crossroads of being who they are, which meant Dad and Mom where out of the picture for a season. Be careful here. I was as arrogant as you, but kids trod their own path and they will step on your heart and do things you thought they would NEVER do. I am so serious about this. I’ve been in the UPCI for over 30 years and kids today are breaking the heart of their parents like never before, Preachers and Saints alike.
So, how old are your kids? How old are you? I'm 50, been married 30 years, and my back is broken from working to provide for them. If you want to PM me, I'd be glad to be candid about my life with God and my experience in the Apostolic Movement.
I will say it again, you lack experience, but that's OK. A wise Elder told me a few years back, "Time is the Greatest Revelator". Time will reveal, and time will tell. You boast today, but the trials of tomorrow will lead you into realms you never dreamed.
God Bless, and may His Peace be upon your life....
P.S. You never did answer my question about who’s going to Hell. Will someone who uses nicotine go there? How about obese people? Do you believe liars will go there? That means Jacob, Rahab, and Abraham will be there. They ALL lied.

Firstly, I've been coming to this forum, and the two previous incarnations, for over 6 years. I was apostolic when I started, but obviously I have made some changes in the past few years. As I technically wasn't agnostic when I joined...what are they supposed to do now? Kick me out for not being spiritual enough? Strangely enough, my experience with Christianity would lead to expect exactly that. But even though I'm not exactly taken seriously here (for the reasons that you mentioned above), they haven't excommunicated me either, and furthermore some even seem to enjoy having me around. Think of me as the neurotic Aunt. Even though you personally find her an embarrassment, as she never quite fits in, and you never know what's going to come out of her mouth, you nevertheless love her.
Lastly, I find the William Price comment to be personally insulting. Though I have admittedly changed my views over the years, for the past few years I have quite steadily remained a post-Christian (for lack of a better term). In addition to that, never in all years here, have I ever given myself a title such as evangelist or prophet, nor have I proclaimed myself to be in any kind of ministry. I also have not tried to recruit people to my way of thinking. I haven't disfellowshipped those who belief differently from me, and I haven't sent anyone to hell who doesn't believe exactly as I do.

You love the screen and what protection it affords you. Calling me on the carpet for saying those who don't believe in hell will have the rude awakening of finding themselves there? Calling me on the carpet? How? Where did youu attempt to do that? You just posted a tome on how you are a pastor and therefore you have postion places you higher than an evangelist? You don't read the Bible much do you? Did you happen to see how many times Evangelist and Pastor is in the New Testament, it's three to one. You see if you would of taken the time to calm your fury, you would of seen where I brought to your attention that you learned of Jesus via the pulpit. Therefore you were taught that churches only have one main leader being one man.
Hence your view or preception that everything begins and ends with the postion of pastor. The evangelist that you speak of with destain, like some jack leg circut riders, are not anyone I know. the Word says, know them that labor among you, therefore the evangelists spend more than one night or one week and help the ministers of a congregation to build up the church. I suggest reading Eph 4.

The ones who throw years around sound as if they been working as a doctor, or lawyer for 14 years. Listen friend, anyone who has been running the road, with wife and children, and having no idea what to expect when they get to a home mission or large church have enough understanding of life in the Apostolic movement. They just have it from the other side of the pulpit.
They get to deal with more pastors than most people do in three lifetimes.
they stay in their homes, find out about what their families are like, how giving or not giving they are. Find out how they treat people as guests.
The evangelist works with everyone, from pastor to saint in more than one area. While years do gain experience no matter what a man is doing, years misspent and doing our jobs the wrong way, make for wasted years.

Wow, who do you have come preach for you? Forget love em and leave em, it sounds like you have drive by shootings. Listen, do yourself and other preachers a favor, don't invite anyone to your pulpit. It sounds like you sure can't pick em.

Did you mind me responding to your opinion about God's Word?
Do you think William Price is only known for his constant changes, or that he flaunts those changes in front of those who hold those truths dear?
