Barb, it doesn't mean that the whole church will begin wearing pants, cut their hair and wear make-up. It just means they aren't going to send others to hell for doing so or not let them participate in roles in the church.
And, there are the other issues too - like TV, amusement parks, etc.
They want to focus on other important issues.
I may be completely off, but this is the way I see it.

It's not just Holiness standards folks. It's PAJC vs. PCI doctrine. Old hat. It's some not believing their brothers and sisters in other denominations, those whose songs they sing and whose sermon materials they preach from, are not going to hell.

Very true!
They are making their box smaller and smaller.

Well, guess I'm non-traditional then, because I'm not sending folks to hell either...
Time to get ready for work...

I really do have to get ready here, but want to stop and add this...
If it seems that I tend to go on and on about the meetings and such, it is because I am SO weary of those who pick at every little thing and examine every word and motive, looking for hidden agendas and signs of 'compromise'.
It's time we let Almighty God be God, and leave the fruit inspecting to Him!
Y'all have a good day...

A couple of questions about the Auburn Hills Church.
1. Wasn't William Parent (son of L.A. Parent) the senior pastor in the nineteen seventies?
2. At that time, wasn't William Parent part of the ALJC and the church considered an ALJC church?
3. Didn't William Parent as pastor leave the question of hair length up to each individual woman's convictions and not as a "church standard"?
4. Isn't the church now considered UPC because the pastor is UPC?
5. Aren't some (at least one) of the pastors in that church affiliated with the ALJC?
6. Is it considered a compromise to have UPC and ALJC ministers on staff at the same local church?
