I'm glad for the ruling. The McCain-Feingold bill was a limit on free speech.
The problem is the people have been sold a sack of lies. The President himself, during his SOTU address, lied about the ruling by saying it "reversed a century of law."
It did no such thing.
There are still laws on the books that prohibit foreign donations.
A number of Republicans and Democrats, notably the Clintons, received illegal campaign donations which had to be returned. I believe BHO himself received some as well.
Yes, the law should be tightened and the loopholes should be dealt with, but the SCOTUS ruling allows for future debate/limits on foreign donations.
If the truth were told, the polls numbers would be very different. Unfortunately the President and other Democrats have lied about it and used fear of foreign involvement to skew public opinion.
