Sissy Worship???
I bet i got attention now!
I was reading a book that was talking about how the church has been feminized and one point he was making is the way services are done in regards to the type of songs that are song. He mentioned Jeses was a man, so don't use feminine words to describe such as "lovely" and such. I've read of others speaking about how some songs seem to be singing to a boyfriend in the sky type.
What think ye?

So how would the church becoming Masculinized be any better? Shouldn't it either be gender neutral, or at the least encompass both genders?

So rather than singing something sissyfied like "And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own...."
We should sing, "My Buddy, my Buddy, wherever I go, He's gonna go..."?

The book is more about feminizing boy/men then actual church. He was just bringing out how Jesus was a man and we should terms that are masculine to sing about such as his strength, power, truth and so on....He stated you would go up to a man as say you are lovely, would you?
he was also stating when boys are not around masculine men they can grow up confused some.

I don't think so, but sing about Jesus traits.

Yes, Jesus was in a male body. But do you think of God as being solely man? I guess I think of the Supreme God as being neither male nor female. He is God, he has both characteristics.

God does not have both characteristics, he has always been described in mascukline terms. Even in your last sentence you use "he"

Yes, he is described in masculine terms. But he is not a "MAN" he is God. He is beyond just a male person, and is deity. Yes, I use the male pronoun, because as you mentioned, he is described in Masculine terms. But I think that God goes beyond just the masculine.
If he made men and women to compliment each other, and we are both in the image of God, how can that be possible, if there is nothing of feminine characteristics in God?

But He is everything to us....
There are many songs that talk about His strength, power, etc., but many that describe His beauty, etc. as well.
The church, whether male or female according to the flesh, is the bride of Christ in the Spirit. It all applies.
