They don't really do that a whole lot anymore, Rhoni. At least they didn't with all 4 of our children. Apparently the shot affects the baby too.

You must be thinking of something else. The epidural doesn't affect the baby at all, and it's the most common form of pain control in childbirth.

I think I will take the word of the 4 different doctors that delivered our children over that of a nurse.
