This is, first of all, a theoretical thought....I have a Gardner and don't do lawns. But that actually is part of the basis of my thought.
Yard work is something that some people love to do, while others hate to do it. It is the same task yet some derive pleasure and others hate the toil (me being one).
But yet pretty much everyone mows the lawn, and of those who hate it there is a percentage that will pay someone else to do it for them.
The ones who love working in the yard make time to be in the yard.
I guess I can apply this logic to any event in life, but the thing that strikes me is that when it comes to Church, prayer, fasting, studying and a host of other church related activities you find very few today who will move their schedule around to participate.
The reality to life is that we pursue what brings pleasure or what produces the lesser pain (mowing the yard is less painful then allowing everything to get out of control). It is apparent that with many of the modern day Christians the things of God is not pleasurable to them and the pain of not following God they do not comprehend.
Prov 1:24-29
24 Because I have called and you refused,
I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,
25 Because you disdained all my counsel,
And would have none of my rebuke,
26 I also will laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when your terror comes,
27 When your terror comes like a storm,
And your destruction comes like a whirlwind,
When distress and anguish come upon you.
28 "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer;
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
29 Because they hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the Lord,
