Are you serious???? No, really, are you seriously helping this girl get "PROPER" clothing??? I think I'm confused...

Gotta clean 'em up before the Holy Ghost will even have anything to do with 'em!

Myself, I can't stand the stink of sinners, especially the "modern" and "already religious" ones. But I admire those who are willing to go that extra mile and try to show the new 'uns how clean up.

Just give me three and a half hours behind the pulpit with a room full of sinners and I'll straighten 'em out or send 'em to hell.

It's too bad those kids aren't allowed to have the Holy Ghost until they wear the proper clothing first.

I'm thankful that my Jesus doesn't withhold His Spirit the same way, but I'm sure it grieves Him that so many are turned away because a man came up with rules that state 'unless you have on the right clothes, you cannot come and receive the Holy Ghost at this place'.

Psalms 19:14,

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Re: Do Your Kids Dress Like Bankers?

Although WH.might have sounded "holier than thou" to some of us, we don't know his daughter's relationship with the girl she is bringing to camp. Perhaps the girl said, "But I have nothing to wear for church" or "You always wear skirts and I just own pants, I won't fit it...". At which point WH's daughter took this girl "under her wing" and they are looking for "proper clothing" as WH put it.

To whoever was curious, I think the camp WH mentioned that he goes to is Bro. Holme's camp in North Little Rock, AR.

Having such an early date might mean some of the "bums" from the UPC could go, if they cleaned themselves up first of course.
Again I never said that any particular group looked like bums, I said that I was glad that my kids did not dress like bums.

The camp is the first of June, only a month and a half away. We all like to plan for any trip. We already have just about every thing planned out for our Oct. vacation.

Heavenly One, you'd make a great reporter for the New York Times or the Washington Times. That's not what was said. I'm sure the girl would feel out of place if she showed up in short shorts or jeans and that was not the attire of everyone else. At our church most of the girls dress very nice but standing beside them at the alter may be a girl in jeans praying.

I do believe that is we were going before the Queen of England or the president of our country we would look our best so why shouldn't we look our best when we go to the house of God. He is the King of Kings. Sloppiness is never acceptable. In my business if someone shows up dressed sloppy we usually shred their application when they walk out the door or write a big NO on it.But the main thing is, it's not how our kids are dressed to go to church it's that they are in church.

Serious as a heart attack. Plus we are raising money to pay her way to camp.

This is just how it is.

This girl's cousin attended out church a little (by he way he doesn't look Pentecostal at all) and the kids meet this girl through him. She lives over 20 miles away so we are not able to get her here to church much. She is suppose to be here today.

Anyway my girl got to talking to her and praying for her (bad home life). The girl told my daughter you are different than other kids. My daughter began to tell her about the Lord (not standards). It was this young lady that noticed my daughter appearance and started to ask questions.

We was able to take her to a youth weekend (same group as the youth camp) She almost got the Holy Ghost, told me I want to change, I told her she needed the Holy Ghost and gave her a short bible lesson (not on standards either).

She ask my daughter "Where can I get skirts?" Anyway my girl has helped her at this young lady's request.

Say what you will we are praying that she gets the Holy Ghost at this camp.

Oh and yes we do attend Elder holmes camp meeting, but this is youth camp in LA.

Whole hearted, I'm with you. Sloppiness is one of my biggest pet peeves. Whether it is at church or on the job. We as Apostolic's are a special people and we should look special. By no means do I think sloppy people won't be saved. Sloppiness has crept into our churches. People can't even sit through a service without their bottle of water and even worse a cup of coffee.
