Do Your Kids Dress Like Bankers?

I'm just wondering. When your teenage boys go to youth convention, do they dress like bankers?

Why do we make our kids dress like that for conventions and camps?

Silliness!

I think they'd have better attendance if they advertised convention as dress casual.

Dumb thing is, we expect them to dress that way at summer camp as well.

It's 95-100 degrees in the summer, and we still expect our kids to wear suits, ties and dress shoes.

I don't get it.

That's the way Jesus and the Apostles dressed
so we have to dress that way too.
Anything less is disrespectful to the House of God
and is unholy and on a slippery slope.

Weren't you told you need to give/bring/wear your best for God? God wants your best, including clothes.

Seriously?

Do you really think folks view that as a standard, and a tradition?

I've heard this said over the pulpit in the last three months. God looks on the heart.

Can't say I remember any of the NT writers telling us how to dress when the church gathers together to worship God. Must be a tradition or custom of man.

Thankfully I think this concept is going away.

Re: Do Your Kids Dress Like Bankers?

The last time we let my son go to camp it was his last time...2 hours of the kids running around the auditorium (in the spirit)then the preaching after the extreamly loud music...
