10% chance Obama wins in a squaker (would mean that the conventional wisdom that the party of a President in power gets the blame when the economy is bad even if that means electing a far left wing lib with little experience)

The more numbers I see come in today CC1, I tend to agree with you on the 80%/10%/10% thing. EVERY tracking poll has Obama up between 6 and 11 percent today. All of these 3 day rolling tracking polls are now getting the full effect of Obama's infomercial the other night and it's pretty clear that people have settled on Obama. I've said 280-300 for Obama, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see between 310 and 320 for Obama now. Even Georgia is going to be as tight as a tick.

This has to be concerning to Congressional Republicans because IF, and that's still an IF, Barack Obama wins this election by 320 or 330 electoral votes he'll have a clear mandate to govern for at least the next 2 years. The Republicans leverage and position will be neal if this turns into a route.

The Republicans had better retool and return to conservatism. if they dont its gonna be church for the next 20 years.

Obama will win Missouri, Florida and Virginia.

Game over.

From another forum:

Quote:
I have been volunteering on the McCain campaign in the infamous Palm Beach County, Florida. I see a McCain win in Florida, even down here along the so-called "Gold Coast," which leans more Democrat. The difference is the Cuban-American vote in Miami-Dade County, and the Jewish vote all over South Florida. The Cuban-Americans are going for McCain by a 3-to-1 margin. I predict that McCain will get at least 40-50 percent of the Jewish vote (despite what the polls say.) I believe that there are quite a few Jews who are afraid to tell anyone that they are voting for McCain. There are hundreds & hundreds of Jews volunteering on the McCain campaign, and showing up at pro-McCain events. The volunteers who were working the phone banks over the weekend said they were talking to more McCain voters than Obama voters. This squares with my experiences on the phone banks over the past few weeks.

The "that's church" phrase has caught on with me. My wife and I were talking about something the other day and I blurted out well "that's church" on that deal and I had to explain to her what that meant.

I personally think that Missouri will stay Red. Obama has never broken the 50% threshold there that I've seen. I also don't believe that Ohio or North Carolina will go to Obama.

I think Florida, as it usually is, is a true toss up. In states like Missouri and Florida, it may very well come down to simply who gets their voters to the polls tomorrow. With Obama's money to pay for GOTV personnel, he has an advantage, but I'm not as sold on Florida and Missouri going to Obama. If both of them do, it'll be a landslide for Obama.
