Very true. Not only do I favor all licensed ministers voting, but I also think we need a voice for laity via delegates of some sort. Perhaps, one delegate per hundred church members.

So there could be a limit set... say no more than 10 votes coming from one church.

They raised the dues here in Indiana this year...we don't go to GC anymore because of the registration fees. The last one I attended was the one in Columbus, Ohio.

I think this is a fabulous plan on a national level however on a local level it would be disastrous. It would lead to stacking of votes. For example, a person with District Supt. aspirations could license dozens of church members and reap the reward of their support.
Again, I am unsure on the language. I could have it all wrong ... or partially.
I also think absentees should be able to mail or input their votes online. I know missionaries can.
Anyone have the wording?
Maybe someone can post all the resolutions for this year.
Also expect this GC to be lightly attended. I went to the last one in North Carolina a few years ago ... and it was a small crowd. Jerry Jones preached a great message on Acts 12 ... Peter's escape from prison and the role of Rhoda.

What about all licensed ministers WHO COULD NOT MAKE IT TO CONFERENCE be allowed to vote? Has that ever been done yet???

I was in the ALJC for a few years.
I replaced a sectional youth leader for a while and then later found out I had to join the organization if I wanted to remain youth leader. I agreed to take a license with the ALJC and asked my pastor, who was at the meeting where I was voted in based on my agreement to be licensed, if I could take my dues out of my tithes. He said I could. Another young minister asked his pastor if he could do that and the pastor said no because he taught that the tithe goes to the pastor and since that was his (the pastor's) money he didn't allow part of his money to pay the dues of some minister.
The org. I'm in now asks for one tenth of the tithe. I send them one tenth of my tithe plus a small offering each month (in addition to annual renewal fee).

IMO -
All UPCI licensed ministers whether local, general, or ordained, should be allowed to vote (including absentee voting) at district and national levels. Voting at sectional conferences should be pastors only.
