Sister, we're not upset. We're just discussing the issue, giving our opinions, and, in my case, defending the faith of people who have gone down this road.
Rico I was teasing
I believe everyone has the right to decide whats best for them. I myself don't go to the doc much, but I don't get sick a lot, nothing major that is. To be frank most doctor scare me, they seem unable to diagnosed illness without the help of many test , more like cover their butts to avoid a lawsuit! When I was younger it was not like this, doctors took the time to know their patient they spent time with you, today your lucky if you get five min out em.
Now as far as children go, I always took my in if it was anything other then a cold, when they are adults then they can decide.
I believe our bodies are a wonderful thing and has the power to heal, renew itself, if given time and treated right, through diet and excises. People tend to take better care of their cars and what goes into it then their own body!
The only thing I've ever asked is that my children will outlive me, as should be and I hope I go fast like most do on my dads side, never knew what got em....
The same way you trust God completely that He will supply all your needs, yet your wife still has to work, and you still attend school to make better money.
Unless you admit that by doing those things, you aren't trusting God completely to meet your needs.......
God does supply all of my needs in all things and I still don't have to go to a doctor or take medication.
Rico, faith isn't measurable. Either you have it or you don't. Faith the size of a mustard seed is all that's needed. Your (not personal your, just general) mountain-sized faith isn't more powerful nor is it more noticed by God than my mustard seed faith.
You won't find 'great faith' in the Bible. Therefore, I have a problem with that 'doctrine'.
Sure, people have that option. I won't deny them that, but it usually extends to their children and those they are responsible for. It's those failures that have ramifications that go far beyond 'they didn't have enough faith'.

Sister, faith most certainly does have some sort of measurement. Have you ever felt faith, like in a service? I have. It definitely occupies space. Anything that occupies space can be measured. Maybe it can't be measured by man, but I believe God can measure it.
And your opinion leads to people who never think of letting God simply heal them of whatever ails them when He has all the power in the universe in the palm of His hand. The next time you get a headache, see if the first thought that comes into your mind is to trust God over the headache or to go take an aspirin. My guess is that, like most Christians, God will never enter your mind.
Maybe those who trust God completely do have a stronger faith than you do. If they do, what's it to you? Is this a competition to see who has more faith?
I respond to that....
Apparently it IS hence we get the comment about GREAT FAITH from the poster who started this thread. And now you corroborate that in your "Maybe those who trust God completely DO have a stronger faith etc etc...."
That IS what the adherents of this doctrine imply not only to those of us with more sense than to swallow their death producing error, but more dangerously to those on the INSIDE of that group who follow it out of the same innocent ignorance of those who handle snakes a fantastic analogy by the way.
Faith is in no way measurable by a person going to work to bring in the daily bread they ask God to give them
or by someone being Spiritually mature enough to NOT reject medical help and needlessly put their life in peril over such simple things as an infected pimple!!!!!! (There aren't enough exclamation marks to demonstrate the amazement with a decision that was so irresonsible that turned so deadly so quick and is now being held up as FAITH! GREAT FAITH!!!!!
Listen lets draw it to a close, you have your opinion as flawed as it is, the problem with it is that it leads to much death. As per the example you show us here those who follow such an example can expect to be checking out of here very early leaving behind widows and fatherless children, and by the way WHO is going to financially provide for them???? Daddy cant because He made a VERY bad decision that resulted in death. Lets just hope and pray no one else follows such a deadly example.
Great Faith is Biblical. You should look it up in your bible. If you don't trust God completely then don't, but you should learn to use some wisdom in talking about us who do trust God completely.

There you have it. It is in the Bible.
You haven't proven that their faith was bigger, and therefore got better results than the ones who had just that grain of mustard seed.
There are lots of people in the Bible who had loved ones raised from the dead and other miracles who aren't listed as having a certain portion of faith. Neither do I believe that's what the scriptures above are saying, just that the faith they had was great....not as in a measurement.
