The thing that bothers me is if I can figure it out why can't they? How can they be so non-caring or careless?

You can do it but just don't use that scripture.

I've heard several ministers preach ,using that text, that we're to think ourselves into a happy state.
What stupid exegesis!!!

I was at one Apostolic Church where we were all told to "leap for joy."
The pastor exhorted us saying something like, "If you want joy, then you have to leap for it. The Bible says to leap for joy."
We all jumped up and down for a while. Some got blessed, some got tired, and some just felt foolish.

2Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
Said that when God cursed Israel, he made her "uncover the thigh".
Notwithstanding that this passage is not even about Israel, and if we took it literally we could say that it was ok for men to wear shorts to the knees.

The "thigh" in Hebrew was usually a euphemism for someplace a bit higher than the thigh itself.

Re: A Lesson in Pentecostal Hermeneutics
How about the Lord "taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man" ( Psalm 147:10) used to preach against men wearing shorts?
How about the preacher who was preaching against men going shirtless? Under a heavy anointing he said, "Why, I'd rather see a woman without her blouse on than to see a man without his shirt on!!!" Probably lots of guys thought "AMEN" even if they were afraid to say it out loud.
How about the time a very well-endowed young lady with a very low cut blouse came to the altar and stood there in front of the preacher displaying ample cleavage? The minister leaned forward, looked down at her and said, "Sister, we're holiness folks here. We look down on blouses like that."

Resetting wasn't as painful as we had feared and no surgery is needed at this point. His mother is babying him now. Kind of a long night but quality family time in the emergency room.

Glad everything is back in place, we had that experience with our second son about sixteen years ago. His wrist was so misshapen that it really scared me, I had never seen anything like that before.
Our neighbor was our doctor, he also is a believer, always prayed with our kids when they had problems. As he reset my son's wrist he prayed, "In Jesus name..." and thank the Lord it healed beautifully.

It seems very clear to me that God is commanding all men who want to be children of God to play baseball at church with their father's old navy buddies, and they get to make up the rules as they go along.
Ha!!!. That's what my BIBLE SAYS...
Let's see you disprove THAT now.

I think you are missing the Hebrew here, "pitch" does not have to mean throw a baseball. It also means "to decline." It could easily have a mountain climbing and descending connotation. I think my interpretation is the common understanding of this passage. Why cannot you see that, you must be an …..!!!
Read the other 25 major translations, the Hebraic version, Spanish, German, French translations. If non of them support my interpretation look at, Webster’s, Vine's expository dictionary, and commentary. If that fails, I will get you some Bible school professors who teach it as I outline above. I am absolutely certain I am correct. I can give a quote about what my pastor thinks about it. If you are such an ….. that you cannot see the light I will have you disfellowshipped and you will be in danger of hell fire. In fact, this is a cardinal doctrine of our denomination and all of our members must believe this for fellowship and salvation.
