No retraction will be give at this time ... this story is standing on all legs.
Facts that were dismissed by many initially ... and still are verifiable.
1. PPH is not selling the books anymore (period). This is indeed not denied by RRFord's
editorial ... he is only opining that they have not been destroyed. He glosses over the heart of the matter (
intentionally or inadvertantly?) that action was taken against these men.
2. The General board did take this action to not sell or distribute against former ministers thru edict.
3. Both RRFord and I have reliable sources that contradict each other. The news of the destruction of books also comes from a person w/ ties to the WEC and was reportedly shared weeks ago on a prominent ministerial forum. You can choose to believe whom you want on this one point. However, considering that this story was dismissed as patently false and later proven to be verifiable and corroborated on various levels and points should give pause to it's reluctant naysayers. If two books were destroyed/thrown away this story is absolutely corroborated.
4. RR, myself and others have shared opinions as to the soundness of the business acumen in making the decision not to distribute books and materials by these men. These are opinions that are rooted in
the fact that PPH is close to 3 million dollars in the red ... planning to outsource it's printing ... and searching hard for answers ... including new leadership for the editorial committee.
5. The org has a history of this type of sanitizing action. This action was taken against men like Tommy Tenney, Paul Dugas (for a season) and now men like Larry Booker and Crawford Coon.
6. RRFord has a history of downplaying or "setting the record" straight on this forum ... his motives are just as obvious as some attach to me and others. Remember when certain "connected" posters told us that there were no plans for the WWPF?
Lastly, The idea that books and their authors will cause ministers to leave to the WPF is just another example of the territorialism that makes actions like these and resolution 3 normal protocol against those who may share the same doctrine but are viewed as potential threats to church franchises. Pastors would be insecure if they think what they stock in a bookstore is the deciding factor for a member choosing to leave. Selling TD Jakes books in Dallas is not a threat, is it?
Further LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS:
1. Did these authors leave in question? What is the reasoning for this edict? Does this
edict to nix give impetus for these men to be placed under question in their individual districts?
2. Why hasn't the editorial committee made a decision on the R Rieder books after sitting on various letters and reportedly meeting on the matter within the last two years?
