This Randy. MOST of the People that Have Left Pentecost
and have moved on to Charismatic churches develop
a distain for this style of delivery. It's true no matter who
tries to deny it

Hey, I NEVER liked it -even when I was IN the UPC. I always saw it for what it was.... Decibels as a replacement for substance. Or like a cheap Chinese restaurant serving 95% white rice and 5% everything else.

I'm assuming he's also changed his method of "preaching".
Over the last several years when I heard him preach, he maintained much of his oratorical flare and passionate delivery and toned down his demonstrativeness.

eventually I created a plan to get my parents money, my dads guns and located a place deep in the woods to go hide.

had a real hard time coming to grips with the notion that I would have to get my head chopped off to be saved.

all the time I was saved. Those 1970's end time preachers scared me. By panic attacks, I mean I coulndt breath, i would go weak in the knees and my heart would beat so fast, it would pound in my head to the point that was all I could hear.

Every once in a while, my flesh rises up and I want to punch one of those dudes in the eyeball.

then I repent and its all good.
We had some friends who were newly married in the late 80's & one night her husband got up to go to the bathroom.
She snuck out of bed & hid in the closet, he came back from the bathroom & went "honey, honey?"
He thought the rapture had taken place until after a while she popped out of the closet!

I don't when preachers are designated to TEACH
and rather they start screaming. However, I don't think
it's right to try to put a wet blanket on passion, exuberance
and enthusiam over the word when it's delivered via preaching

When there is a reason for a preacher to be excited, you can tell. But when the 'excitement' and volume is part of the planned delivery -which consists of nothing but canned well-known versus filled with plenty of "common now! Let me hear you clap!" type lines, then I know there is no cloths on this emperor.
