Also, I heard it grew after Tommy Tenney preached a revival
there where the pulpit split in half- anyone remember that?
I was good friends with Ray Highfield who was on staff at CT in the 90's. He was a pastor and he lead the AIDS Care Team at CT. It was through my friendship with Ray that I was impressed to approach Brother Kilgore and start an AIDS Care Team at Life.
Yes, the Tommy Tenney pulpit story was a good story. TT was preaching a revival and it was said that the Spirit of God was so prevalent in those services that TT didn't preach many nights.
In one meeting, TT and RH were both sitting on the front row when RH tried to get TT to go to the pulpit and speak. TT didn't feel that he should at that moment, so RH went up there and began to speak....when...BAM!!!! The pulpit was split in two and RH was knocked back 10 feet flat on his back flopping like a fish out of water.
They ended up carrying RH out of the church, because he was slain in the Spirit for hours that day. I had visited CT just a couple of weeks afterward and heard RH speak of what happened during that meeting first hand.
Interesting...

Based on what you have expressed and your disregard for all of our early history ...
It appears you have entrenched yourself as a neo-con.
I wonder where some of the neo-cons in this other movement would support ????
I understand that they have wars over this .
LOL! You really are trying to start a fight arent you? What have I expressed? what disregard for our early history? You find where I have disregarded our early history.
Please. I have repeatedly pointed out that AU believed the Light Doctrine!
I have never once denied Goss or any of the other major players of the UPCI that were PCI.
and I CANT be a Neo-con or any other kind of con. I have a television! LOL!

Quite frankly I think it's indicative of how you think .... Ferd about those that have left over standards and soteriological difference ...
1. They don't preach holiness ... or the need for the Spirit of God to sanctify us.
2. That they don't preach it is essential to preach obeying the Gospel.
This is clear. You are no moderate.
Sounds just like the Jehovah's Witness's when I tell them I believe in one God!
They promptly tell me I am wrong & that is not what I believe!
I was in an Apostolic Church back in the late 80's while a powerful speaker spoke, the title was 'prayer really changes things.' Is name was Richard Heard from the United Pentecostal Church.
I recently tried looking him up on the net to buy some tapes from him. The only Richard Heard I found is Richard Heard a pastor from Christian Tabernacle in Houston TX. I hope this is not the Richard Heard I heard speak that night. Does anyone know about the Richard Heard from the UPC and the Richard Heard from Christian Tabernacle in Houston TX? All information on both will be appreciated, but I'm looking for the Richard Heard from the UPC. Thanks to you all.
If you dont mind me asking....what made you say you hope this is not the same Richard Heard?

A pastor's wife in TX that knew the people over that ministry
said they counceled a lot of young men who ended up in that
life and with AIDS who claimed they were turned out by preachers
at various events such as camp meetings, conferences, revivals.
Also, some folks on the right believe that incident was a sign
of judgment for what they did to Bro Free and for the direction
they took from what Bro Bean use to preach there
