Esther, in all seriousness I support Repub. moral family issues but when a Repub. votes against these things but then turns around and does it himself it's hypocircy pure and simple! The Dems are not the ones voting against family values and then living a lie

It really worsens our cause - do you understand?

Wow! you talk about a HOT MESS!!!!!

i want to know what all you Republicans think of this one!!!
Have not read this thread but hopefully by now someone has corrected you by informing you that the man in this news story is a STATE legislator, not a United States Congressman as your thread infers.

How about a correction or retraction to se the record straight since you have impuned the Republicans in congress.

So, a member of a Conservative party is exposed as being a hypocrite.
How often does that happen? Pretty often.
How often does a member of a conservative religious group get exposed as a hypocrite? Pretty often.

What about Democrats?
If/when Democrats engage in homosexual activity it is not newsworthy because their party principles promote that type lifestyle.

I think of Bill and the famous Blue dress. The words, "I did not". Only what did - did mean?

I say to the republican leave office or get voted out...

Thad, there are several points that I consider here.

this is a state legisltor. there are thousands of such in the USA. so eventually you will find one who does something stupid. (law of large numbers)

Second, at this point, it isnt clear what really happened, so commenting on this is inexact at best.

Third, and most importantly, IF this guy is guilty the Republican party will insure he is tossed out on his head. Because that is what we do to this kind of fellow who reprents us.

If this guy were a democrat, it is likely that it would not even make the news. It is even more likely that the democrat party would do nothing to the guy. Or really, they would rally around him and he would get standing ovations for his "currage" and such.

my thoughts are these. Republicans and democrats do bad things. When Republicans do bad things, Republicans deal with it and get rid of the bad guy.

When Democrats do bad things, their fellow democrats, blame republicans and rally to suppor their oppressed brother.

FERD you don't agree that it's going to be worse for someone who is outspoken against certain moral issues and then, come to find out, they are living that lifestyle on the DL themselves ????

I can't understand why you and others can't see the hypocricy in this and just admit it. I can see why the Dems get a pass - they are not the ones voting and preaching against it obviously

So why should that make them ok for a pass?

They feet should be put to the fire for NOT standing for good morals.

knock knock!! Esther , somehow you are not getting my obvious point!

the REASON it's a Much bigger issue/scandal is because you have a politician who VOTES Against these morals issues Yet is doing it himself!!! HELLO!! don't you see what that is why it was such a HUGE issue with ted Haagard??? If a liberal Dem. was found to be doing this, people would not jusdge as harshly because they are not the ones preaching against these groups.
