I have responded to this post twice (wrote two masterpieces, if I do say so myself). However, both times I lost it before I could hit the submit button. Maybe God is prompting me not to open that can of worms. Let me just say that I KNOW why you speak so critically of NH.
You often talk about your love and concern for your boys. You better pray that they never pick up on your bitterness regarding CLC and NH.
BTW - as far as the "commercials" go.... don't tell me that the other colleges wouldn't have done something similiar if they had thought of it first!

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

You're probably right. As far as "other Bible colleges go..." I remember what was always being said at one school about some other - and this was back before they had even invented Macs or PC's.
There has always been a constant rivalry and tweaking of one school by another (Like, "Why will that school go first in the rapture?" ... you know). The jabs were usually done in a good spirit with youthful exuberance and innocence. The school vs. school stuff was never a big deal.
The harmful stuff was when some preacher somewhere got a grudge going against another preacher. If either was involved with a Bible school, then the school(s) were belittled and accused of "compromise." The classic pattern of attack and abuse.
I liked the "cookie cutter" innuendo in the ads. I remember many faculty and students having a real problem learning how to treat others who were even slightly different with genuine respect and decency. The first part of each year seems to always be spent deciding who is going to hell, or worse - who is a "compromiser."
Basic people skills could actually carry this Gospel to a much greater level of exposure and conversions.

I do not see most of this as a slam toward other bible colleges. They are advertising "If you don't want to attend a traditional BS, attend here, we think outisde of the box.." No harm in that.
And, If I wanted to stir something up, I would say something along the lines of the guy in the box eating the pastry.. and what it could mean.. but I won't!! LoL

While attending ABI back in the 80's, JCM was about twice the size of our school. Since Lanny Wolfe and the music was such a big attraction @ JCM, ABI went with the slogan "ABI: Where the Word of God comes first."
Its a highly competitive market out there, especially with declining numbers due to the lack of any accreditation. The pool is getting more shallow for potential students so the pressure to compete is greater.

I haven't watched the ones posted on this thread but I thought for sure that one of them they played at Congress referred to the guy inthe box as "IBC". But I kept asking the people I was sitting with but they weren't paying attention.

I would have loved to read your masterpieces....and I have no bitterness towards NH or CLC... maybe a little sadness... but it really doesn't matter..
Sweetpea... I still have many many freinds that attend CLC... and talk with them on a regular basis... and never speak about the church (CLC)...
I could care less what's going on there.. or what's happening.. Couldn't tell you any gossip about who's doing what.. or where...Because I don't care and don't know and specifically don't ask...
I rarely if ever speak critically of NH... I am not a fan... but I have actually applauded some things he has done to other Minister friends...
Sometimes I forget that people who go to church there post here and for that I am sorry I said anything... against the leadership of your church... it is only right that you would defend them just I defend KH anytime that anything is said against him...
The Boys are doing great... and I thank you for their concern...
as for the can of worms of probably or maybe what's being said about us.. I could care less about that too... We are doing great and God has been opening many doors for us...and thank you for your prayers...
One thing to note*
Sweetpea is that you know who we are... Because I haven't hidden it..but we do not know who you are...so it's easy for you to post with anonimity without us knowing who we are speaking to...
