Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

Our resident anti-Semitic poster doesn't realize that every person in this country has a fundamental, constitutional guarantee to Due Process.

I worked for two criminal attorneys and we represented those who were guilty and those who were not. It's called Due Process and it respects every person's rights under the law.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

In other news, Cruz supporters have transited from denial of his sleazy actions as a private attorney to whining justification for them.

The rest of America preferred the denial. Nobody (except for fellow sleazebag lawyers and their employees) is buying "constitutional rights" in a civil suit over stolen intellectual property by Chinese commies.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

Yet another great achievement from the rolling Ted Cruz train:

Candidate Tea Party Evangelical Moderate Conservative
Bush 5% 15% 19% 14%
Carson 10 9 5 9
Christie 4 5 12 6
Cruz 12 7 5 7
Huckabee 14 12 7 9
Paul 9 4 6 5
Rubio 4 4 6 4
Walker 26 18 5 25

The "Texas Firebrand", according to polling within Republican ranks, is not first choice of ANY single Republican group, and is polling single digits in every category except for the Tea Party, where Walker is the preferred candidate.

Though we all realize that Ted Cruz is not good for America, it appears that he is not good for Republican America either. Republicans across the board seem to prefer candidates that are not even running to Ted Cruz.

It should be noted that Scott Walker leads in 3 out of 4 broad categories of Republican voters, with Cruz holding second place consolation prize with the Tea Party and far down the field with all other groups.

Sen. Cruz Cosponsors Bipartisan Bill to Ban Bulk Record Collection
Opposes ‘clean’ PATRIOT Act renewal
April 28, 2015
|
202-228-7561

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today released the following statement regarding the USA FREEDOM Act of 2015 filed today. Sen. Cruz is an original co-sponsor of the bill:

"A clean reauthorization of the USA PATRIOT Act's bulk record collection program is not acceptable," said Sen. Cruz. "It is absolutely critical for Congress to balance the privacy interests of law-abiding citizens against the public's interest in national security. The USA FREEDOM Act of 2015 strikes the right balance by ending the National Security Agency's unfettered data collection program and implementing other surveillance reforms, while at the same time preserving the government's ability to obtain information to track down terrorists when it has sufficient justification and support for doing so. I am pleased to join with Senators Lee, Leahy, and others in this bipartisan reform effort, and I look forward to working with both Republican and Democratic colleagues to see that this bill crosses the finish line. Americans deserve nothing less."

The USA FREEDOM Act of 2015 was introduced by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Sen. Cruz, and Sens. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), Dean Heller (R-Nev.), Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Al Franken (D-Minn.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

Polling update:

Ted Cruz

April 28, 2015

PPP's newest Iowa poll finds Scott Walker well ahead of the rest of the Republican field in Iowa, getting 23% to 13% for Marco Rubio, 12% for Jeb Bush, 10% each for Mike Huckabee and Rand Paul, 8% for Ted Cruz, 7% for Ben Carson, 5% for Chris Christie, and 4% for Rick Perry.

Ted Cruz is reportedly planning to throw a party to celebrate rocketing ahead of Ben Carson. He and his supporters insist that 8% of 46% is a national mandate for his firebrand conservative message.

He has chartered two small jets, and it is estimated that after all of his supporters are seated there will still be room for 2-3 additional members of the press to cover the celebration.

In a related story, Fox News, the pulse of Conservative America, released a poll this week that shows Cruz trailing Bush, Walker, Rubio, Paul, and Huckabee. The good news is that the Cruz machine is thrashing Carson 8%-6%.

Cruz is combing more trailer parks hoping to flush out Republican voters who have no TV and have never heard of him in order to boost his ratings.

Ted Cruz taps Matt Schultz to head Iowa campaign

"He is a consistent conservative who cares about liberty and won't back down from a fight," Schultz told CNN on Wednesday. "That is why I'm supporting Ted Cruz for President and I'm honored to be chairing his Iowa campaign."

Schultz is one of more than 20 Iowa Republicans that Cruz was expected to announce Wednesday who were supporting his campaign.

Cruz releases list of Iowa activist supporters

In a letter to two dozen members of the Cruz leadership team in Iowa, the campaign says it is drawing support from people who were active in the past campaigns of Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney. Santorum and Huckabee are previous caucus winners.

Perry, Cruz Make Their Mark at South Carolina Forum

Attendees welcomed the remarks by both Cruz and Perry, but Cruz's energy certainly made its mark with many in the crowd.

Cruz earned the auditorium’s most thunderous applause of the day, so much so that the event’s host, U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina, noted the crowd seeking to shake Cruz’s hand.

“Wow, he’s been called a rock star, but he actually acted like one there, didn’t he?” Duncan said to the audience about Cruz.

Listening to his two daughters having a conversation.

Caroline: "Catherine, what do you want to do when you grow up?"

Catherine: "I want to work in the US Senate. I want to work with Daddy."

Caroline: "Oh, that's boring. We are going to be rock stars. Besides, Daddy will be dead by then."

Ted: "This is a real conversation. I kind of wondered if Caroline had been speaking to Republican leadership."

LOL! She probably was.
