While I know nothing about the party who created this video, or endorse said party in any way, these statistics cannot be ignored even if we may not like the messenger...

Re: The Elephant in the Room (V)
So why did the church speak up (rightfully so) during the Civil rights movement but remains silent on this issue? Where are the black pastors who will renounce this? The silence thus far on this post is very telling. Both black and white members of AFF are obviously too cowardly to acknowledge the elephant.

Re: The Elephant in the Room (V)
Fine here goes.As long as vocal elements in the black community stay in the defensive mindset of the civil rights pre-civil rights mindset there wont be much progress made. Its like frontier settlers under Indian attack...you circle the wagons...but now the Indian attack is fought off the wagons stay circled in preparation for a attack that isnt coming...it is instead coming from within the circle but yet instead of addressing the new threat it is ignored to their peril.
During the Civil Rights movement brave and courageous men and women stood up against injustice and they won.But now instead of charismatic leadership that promises to look out for racial interest we need Godly families in the black community that will stand up and refuse to be defined by those that profit from racial strife and conflict and that will deliver a resounding counterpoint to drown out the voices and influences of the entertainment industry.
I work in EMS and I work in a parish that is predominantly black. My partner and I have alot of conversations about many deep and controversial topics...he is a black pastor and he is my brother in Christ in the truest sense of the word.We see the young women on their double digit pregnancies...we see the poverty the shootings the rapes the assaults the drugs and we also see the indifference...the attitude of this is just how it is.I dont claim to come with answers all I know is that its time to have a honest discussion in spite of inflamed emotions and anger.

Eric Holder says we are a nation of cowards that are afraid to talk about race. Guys like Holder are terrified at the prospect of blacks and whites actually joining in total color blindness.

Re: The Elephant in the Room (V)
I told my partner that as long as they keep us divided we will never address the true enemy.Holder is one to talk....Black Panthers using intimidation tactics at polling locations in Philly?Thats just as bad as the Klan showing up.Things like that come from one party feeling disadvantaged and over compensating to even the odds.

Re: The Elephant in the Room (V)
These stats came out in 1992
Quote:
• According to the latest US Department of Justice survey of crime victims, more than 6.6 million violent crimes (murder, rape, assault and robbery) are committed in the US each year, of which about 20 per cent, or 1.3 million, are inter-racial crimes.
• Most victims of race crime—about 90 per cent—are white, according to the survey "Highlights from 20 Years of Surveying Crime Victims", published in 1993.
• Almost 1 million white Americans were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by black Americans in 1992, compared with about 132,000 blacks who were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by whites, according to the same survey.
• Blacks thus committed 7.5 times more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population. When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the number of violent racial crimes of whites.
• According to the latest annual report on murder by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, most inter-racial murders involve black assailants and white victims, with blacks murdering whites at 18 times the rate that whites murder blacks.

These are more modern....
Quote:
The “New Century Foundation” studies Federal crime reports, and found significant differences in crime ratio between races, verified by the FBI’s NCVS, National Crime Victimization Survey, and The Department of Justice’s UCR, Uniform Crime Reports, FBI Communication’s Division, 304-625-4995.
They state emphatically that the Judicial System is not biased against minorities.
Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.
Blacks are three times more likely to use a hand gun, and twice more likely to use a knife.
Hispanics commit three times more violent crimes than whites, but the statistics are nebulous because sometimes they are classified as white, so it could be far higher.
The best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percent of the population that is black and Hispanic.
Blacks are 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites then vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit a robbery.
Forty-five percent of black crime is against whites, 43 against other blacks, and 10 percent against Hispanic.
Blacks are seven times more likely to go to prison, Hispanics three times, and the reason is clear, because from 1980 to 2003 the US incarceration rate has tripled, and so proves that Justice is not only hard won, but well served.

One reader noted....
Quote:
The race baiters would have you believe that white on black crime is a very serious problem in our country. The opposite is actually the truth. Sociologists and psychologists can give you their opinions on why the crime rate by blacks is so high --- poverty, oppression by whites, lack of fathers at home, etc. But the bottom line, relating it to today, is that the Trayvon Martin shooting is not something that happens everyday. Black on white and black on black crime is something that does happen everyday. The United States has changed dramatically during the last 60 years. Opportunities exist for anyone of any race willing to work hard for their dreams. Whitey does not spend his time at breakfast making plans for the day about what he can do to keep the black man down. It is the race hustlers who have kept fellow blacks down.

It's a shame that there are no Republicans with backbone who will openly debate these facts.
But no matter what I will still love and reach out to ALL around me. These stats do not cause me to hate, but to strive to love a little deeper and pray a little harder.
