Self-Condemnation Ever Attack You?

Amen. Happiness is a problem solving device in Scripture; a powerful one, i guess. Prolly because if you are really determined to commit to God, i guess you are gonna need it. That piece of yourself that you will give away in order to...not go through the horrible emo/drama, not react; it has cousins--all the pieces of yourself that are left. Joy might be a better word? Weird, neither word, defined as we normally would, really quite fits. Hmm.

I think we've all wrestled with self-condemnation.

1 John 3:19-22

19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.

Amen to that. i think where satan is often able to get to us here is the misunderstanding of v20. i know i only poorly grasp this, anyway--that we are not condemned by our sins, which have been forgiven; we are instead limited by our guilt over these sins. i think i got that right...
