Duck Dynasty Question
How in the world did a bushy bearded redneck get an interview with GQ magazine to start with?

I know when I first read the original magazine article posted by the GQ, I was SHOCKED at the language used... it was sick. I had to skim through most of the article, because the language was so explicit, ugly, and just ... sick! Seems to me the Robertsons must not have done their homework to have granted an interview to this kind of a magazine. It was obviously a set up.

He may have used words that aren't pleasant, but he did use proper medical terms for body parts and not slang. Slang words for those areas would've been much more offensive IMO. I'd rather hear a medical term ANYDAY.

I was surprised at the language used too....but it wasn't technically.....wrong....

He got interviewed by the magazine because he is in the biggest selling reality tv show in tv history, and is the patriarch of the family.

Read an article on Tuesday that Hollywood Execs say A&E messed up by setting up GQ/Phil interview. I'll have to look for the link again. The feeling among several execs is that there was no upside to the GQ interview, so why do it? Subscribers to GQ are not going to watch Duck Dynasty. Not only that, but A&E was fully aware of Phil's beliefs before the interview. Article stated to watch soon for another statement from A&E, this time more conciliatory towards the Robertsons with Phil being reinstated. More than likely before the new season premieres, perhaps towards the end of next week.
