Taxing the rich

Ok. I have a question here. Can somebody please explain to me why some political leaders want to tax more money from the rich?

At what point does one become 'rich'?

I'm looking at this from a point of view in that if a man or woman spends hundreds of thousands of dollars in higher education and he/she invests 8 years of their life learning and becoming a professional, why should they be penalized by being taxed if they open up a professional office and earn some money after doing all of that?

Or why should a man who built up a business from scratch and hard work be penalized through the taxing system?

I'm all for helping the poor..especially those who become poor through no fault of their own...but shouldn't some of the poor be helping themselves some too?

I grew up in poverty. There was no help for me while I was growing up. We starved. But I did have a small window of opportunity in which the state paid my tuition to learn a vocational job after I moved to this region as a young adult.

Nowdays, in my region, the counties pay for the tuition for high school graduates so there should be no excuse for the young men and women not to earn good enough grades in high school to be eligible for this free tuition. Yet, it seems like so many deliberately fail or end up having babies ...like they deliberately sabotage their future. Why should someone who works hard to get through the university and graduate school be taxed to pay for lazy people?

It is about control. Plain and simple. It is not about the poor. If we continue to "tax our way out" of our problems we will be doing nothing better then throwing money into our fireplaces. Reckless government spending and federal government overreach is the problem.

And when the top one percent of income earners already contribute forty percent of the Federal income taxes that are collected, but only make thirteen percent of the income, to say they aren't "paying their fair share" is just a lie.

That makes an even bigger joke when the liberals speak of giving "tax cuts" to the bottom fifty percent of income earners, who make no Federal income tax! Sure, payroll taxes may come out of their paychecks, but they get every dime back plus several thousand dollars in other "tax credits", which proves that we already have "re-distribution of wealth".

But try telling any of the above to the ignorant masses of Obamabots.

Re: Taxing the rich

Taxing the "wealthy" is just the fair thing to do.
There are people in this country who are wealthy and there are people who are poor.
If we take from the wealthy and give to the poor we will all be equal.

Do you really think it is right that some have more than others?
This is America. We are supposed to be equal.

Or as Forest Gumps mother("Mrs Gump....") would say "Forest, if the good Lord wanted us all to be the same he would have made us ALL poor."

Sam, That's the same argument that Lennin made to Russia. The poor in Russia thought OH Boy, that's great.

They ended up as slaves.

That is, I believe Obama's agenda. As well as the leaders of the One World Government. That the whole world be equal. That sounds good and noble, but who will pay for the whole world to be equal?

The rich polititians will throw them a bone, while enslaving the world, EQUALLY
probably with a MARK, so they can keep up with everyone.

And I'm not against the Rich. Let the rich be rich. The intelligent be inteeligent. The middle class be the middle class, and all help the poor.

In other words---FREEDOM.
