Somewhere, someday, there will be another 12 year old girl, maybe in your hometown, who will LIVE because of this law, and not die like the 14 year old girl in California who died because her parents could not afford the life-saving surgery.

Jermyn how many will die because they can't afford to feed their kids or go to jail because they don't have money for the insurance TAX?

Doubtful, this country will be more concerned with the tanking economy trying to pay for it.
And you can tell all the sad sob stories you want to JD, nobody has said we don't need some kind of healthcare reform, but this has far reaching effects that will be disasterous.
Wonder they wouldn't perform the surgury anyway ? After all, Cali passed a law that hospitals must care for any illegals that walk in the door at taxpayer expense. See how backwards that is?

German, you couldn't be content with just posting on the thread already started on this subject?
You will find that to many of us the ruling was no surprise. I felt there was at least a 70% chance it would be declared legal.
As Chief Justice Roberts said, just because legislation is declared legal does not mean it is good legislation.
Hopefully this result today will motivate people to get involved politically and vote Republicans into the Presidency and control of the House and Senate so we can repeal this socialist program that is going to further bankrupt our country and cause our medical care to decline in quality.
Of course we are still at the mercy of the 30-40% of "swing" voters who just stick their finger up in the air to decide how to vote because they are too disinterested in anything that involves thinking. We just have to pray the wind is blowing the Republicans way the day those people decide how they are going to vote.
