TX Inmate Wins 40% of WV Democrat over Obama

West Virginia, a Democratic bastion, sent a strong message to Obama about how unpopular he is in their state. A convicted felon from Texas was able to get his name on the Democratic ballot and won 41% of the vote against Obama. WV is a coal state, and it's economy has been greatly harmed by the anti-coal policies of the Obama White House. Even the Democratic Senator from WV has publicly stated he isn't sure whether he will vote for Obama this fall.

Well if the President was counting on courting WVa before, he should not waste his time.


In all fairness, the coal industry in West Virginia has been on a decline for a LOOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG time.

Coal mining and other jobs have been fleeing West Virginia since Obama was in high school.

The wiser thing would have been to introduce another technology or some other job creating venture to the entire Appalachian region BEFORE making moves to remove the industrial remains of one of America's chronic welfare states.
