Dow Drops for 5th Straight Day

With Europe teetering on the brink, France electing a socialist as president vowing to stop spending cuts, and dismal jobs reports here in the USA in April, the Dow has dropped nearly 550 points in the past five working days. Thats half the gains it made since January.

I talked to my dad yesterday about the election. He is a die hard, union Democrat. He believes the economy is getting better and that the election looks good for Obama. Out of respect for my dad I don't argue with him. He went on about how Romney's religion will be a factor and that the election will be about Romney. Democrats are whistling in the dark. This president does not make investors feel confident about the future. European socialism certainly doesn't.

There's only one way to get this country fixed.
It's not politicians, politics, the stock market or anything else.
Getting people saved is the solution.

It's like the abortion issue, you want it solved?

Re: Dow Drops for 5th Straight Day

Someone I follow on Twitter (who happens to be a worship leader and songwriter in St Louis) had this to say yesterday: "Our hope is not in politicians. Politicians cannot change the hearts of men."

"Well, duh!" is probably one's first reaction. But, as much as I get rawled up sometimes in politics, it's good to be reminded that only God can move and change the hearts of people. Whether the person who we feel's heart needs to be changed is seeking God's will or not, at least those people who are are praying for His direction are.

The stock market will remain an untreated case of bipolar disorder for as long as it's around. Politicians will continue what many of us may feel is nonsense, which might and sometimes does have an affect on the stock market. The only thing one can do is pray, vote, and pray more...

It sounds good, but the numbers don't really back it up. Christians are about as likely as non Christians to commit abortion.

I agree about getting people saved, but we still have to teach abortion is murder and is infanticide.

Yep. If 100% of the people would be born again, what a beautiful world this would be. Until then we have to hope for the best people, with the best policies in the best positions to preserve the peace and foster prosperity. And the abortion issue won't get solved. But it would be nice to protect unborn babies and make it more difficult for people to murder their children.

I agree. However I would rather be a Christian praying for and voting for change in America than to be a Christian hoping for change in China.

Yes, however, it is obvious that salvation has NOT fixed all the problems in the church, so your view while admirable will not fix the world's problems. Even Christians have to learn to manage their money, and to live righteously.

What you folks are doing is denying the power of the Lord Jesus Christ!
That's exactly why this country is in problems!
