What are some you had heard?
I will start:
A television that will blow up if you do not bow to it

A person was driving down the street and passed a hitchhiker. They looked back and the hitchhiker was in their backseat. They said " I am an angel sent to tell you Jesus is coming back soon" I had heard this story claimed as true.(I found this on Snopes.com)LOL

The big Belgum computer (I also found this on Snopes)
The fact that George H W Bush was a secret society member who was pushing for one world order! (Give me a break)

About 3 popes ago it was supposed to be last according to the made up time clock out of Revelations.

Anybody ever locate a copy of NA Urshan's tape where he said an angel told him the Lord would come before he died, and he gave Bro U a wooden cane?

My old UPC pastor blasted the 88 in 88.
As well as the Y2K issue.

SG Norris taught a 14 year tribulation period based upon typology of the feasts of Israel!

I don't remember that.

I thought he taught the usual 7 years (Daniel's 70th week)
plus maybe some time after the rapture before the 70th week began

It's been a long time since I sat in the classroom and heard Bro. Norris teach.
I went there just one year --1956/1957

Bro. Norris was a good teacher.
He was very good at explaining things.
I just didn't agree with some of the things he taught,
plus he was very autocratic in the way he ran that school.

I have his tape on it! From the first UPC prophecy conference in around '77 or so. It was entitled THE 14 YEAR TRIBULATION.

If the tribulation period is 14 years and the millennium starts at the year 2000, then the rapture would have been in 1986, 4 years before Bro. Norris' death.

I wonder what he thought when 1986 rolled in.

He was probably as embarrassed as when Mussoline (the guy he once designated as the AntiChrist) was publicly executed and humiliated.

Just because they never happened doesn't mean they won't. I'm not sure about the "May 21,2011" date-could be a possibility if it's God's timeline and not our own. We should all live as if it could happen the very next moment but work as fervently even if it doesn't happen that day. Preparation is the key to the whole thing.

Not everybody will go and there are those who are sure they will that won't. I'm not God and I'm not a judge-just quoting the Word. When we look at world events and look at what the Bible says, one thing is certain-whenever it is, it can't be too long off. It won't overtake us a thief who are God's children-we are exhorted to look for it, to be expecting it! That's who His Word says He will appear to.

This is why we should just stick with preaching the Bible, not using the Bible to give some credibility to someones ridiculous phobias.
