Now... if they notify the general public, al Shabab is going to know that their information was leaked. Now they are going to go on the rampage looking for the informant. Should they find him... he will die.
Why? To make some sassy American woman who doesn't understand what kind of sacrifices are a part of being at war.
Great Cindy, now our informant is dead. How do we keep tabs on al-Shabab? How will they now retaliate? They will most likely liquidate and vanish. Why? Because people have forgotten that we are at war.
Everyone is starting to act like Liberals. lol
Let's imagine we are at war and we put our strategies on the news and all the secret information we have. We'd never win the war.

I am not saying they have to go into detail. Just that there are valid threats to security. And that is the reason we have these policies in place.
