With the Alvears in Brazil
I got in late last night, and they were at the airport to meet me- along with their son Michael and two of their grandsons. We had delicious soup sometime after midnight, and some passion fruit pudding, on the porch of their house. It was so good!! I finally crashed but they were all up until about 3 am. I have decided I´m not enough of a party person to live in Brazil!! At least not in this household.
Today, they took me to see some of their chuches, and we got to visit in the homes of some of their precious saints. I was so humbled to be able to eat some fresh pineapple drizzled with Eagle Brand in one of their houses. Yumm!! I saw the very best and the very worst of Maceio - unbelievable exremes. Lots of great pictures! We ate lunch in a great restaurant on the beach - fried shrimp that was amazing.
Tonight we´re having traditional Brazilian food, something with black beans that I requested actually - their national dish. Can´t wait! Then church in one of their daughter works in a farming community tonight. Tomorrow night is the singing at the big church here. That will be fun, even though I don~´t understand the language.
The Alvears are amazing people. I have tried and tried to bless them, but they have insisted on blessing me and have treated me like royalty. There was even a huge banner on their church outside wall welcoming me!!
