Jesus Christ is called Lord... Is it because he is God? Is it because he is God-man? Is it because he is man?
I stumbled upon this verse today in
Ephesians 1:3 and it said "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ..." Normally I think the thought is that the use of the term Lord refers to him being God. However, God has no God. So since the Lord Jesus Christ is referenced as having a God, we must conclude that this passage speaks not of him as God (I'm not saying that he isn't God, only that this passage is not referencing him as God)?
So, it seems the use of "Lord" does not imply that Christ was God because the Lord Jesus Christ has a God. Just curious on any implications this has on anyone's understanding of oneness. Personally, I think people to often get caught up in Christ's deity that they forget his humanity. Also, any thoughts regarding the original question of how the word Lord is used in describing him would be appreciated.
