I think we put to much on the salvation issue. The whole point was to bring us back into relationship with God. Jesus said I and the door no man comes to the father but by me.
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
When we get so wrapped up in works of salavation we spend less time communing with God.
