I found it ironic that in the last few days he tried to get Mass. to change the succession law so that when he died the Governor could immediately appoint a successor, rather than a special election being held, to help the Democrats with the healthcare vote. This was the same law he championed five years ago when a Republican was Governor of Mass. and Kennedy wanted to make sure that a Republican Governor could NOT appoint a Senatorial successor. Duplicitous to the very end.

Not ironic at all, CCRyder...it's simply following the 'party line'.
Change any rule, attempt to change any law, vote for any junkyard dog as long as we don't cross the 'party line'.
Bob Schieffer on CBS this morning said that Chappiquiddick was the thing that hung over TK's head, and kept him from the presidency.
But he also said that TK was a flawed man who went on to do some good things. I'm sure the commentators and those doing the research will find the things to which Mr. Schieffer referred.
As you said, at the moment our prayers are with the family...this is the 2nd family death in as many weeks.
